The National Archival Collection of the Czech Republic

The aim of this thesis is to introduce the The National Archival Collection of the Czech Republic (CR NKF). The library collection is absolutely unique in its main objective that is to collect all Czech and foreign bohemical printed and non-printed documents, including journals since 1901. This thesis aims to introduce this collection both in a historical and current context, especially via library line or through ongoing projects in cooperation with the CR NKF. In the end, the work exaplains long-term protection and preservation of modern library collections in foreign countries and compares it with the situation in the NKF in the Czech Republic.

The role of the Czech National Library in regional and world digitisation and its activities in digitalisation from ½ 90s of 20th century up to date

The bachelor thesis summarizes the history of activities of the National Library of the Czech Republic in digitization and its participation on international and national projects for digitization. This work does not just focus on these projects, but also on Albertina icome Ltd., and briefly describes the government programs of the Ministry of Culture VISK (Public Information Library Services), which are an integral part of the digitization of the National Library. The thesis also deals with the role of the National Library of the Czech Republic in European and global environment. The projects and the status of the National Library are briefly evaluated by the author of the thesis. Her opinions, drawn from the current situation of the project, are also presented. Furthermore, the author deals with the possible future development of digitization. The work's time range is set from the mid 1990's to the present. The thesis work deals with the system of linking-up education of librarians, which is implemented through the region's education centres which work in the county libraries.In this centre there is National Library of The Czech Republic, which in the partnership of the professional institutions digestedly operates and coordinates the function of the provided services which are operate by regional centres.The target is to provide relevant information, which might be use while framing the education activities of librarian regional centres.The part of my work is the research aimed to analyze of the partial implications, which might effect the quality and the enforcement of its function.
