Čech, Martin ; Svída, David (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
In my bachelor work I have tried to analyze informations about lubricants in up to date combustion engines. This work deals with motor oils and their viscosity and performance classification The special motor oils for motorcycles are part of this bachelor work too. One of the aims of bachelor work provide informations about gear oils for automatic as well as manual transmissions and their classification. This work describes also questions about additives.
Oils for combustion engines
Dzurenda, Ján ; Novotný, Pavel (referee) ; Maršálek, Ondřej (advisor)
Bachelor's thesis deals with information search of the current state of knowledge in the field of lubrication of combustion motors, i.e. lubrication systems and oils for combustion motors. The introduction of work focuses on the issue of lubrication systems, theirs partitions by methods of lubrication and description of the main parts of the lubrication system. Next part is focused on the oils of motors. In this part is referred to division of motor oils, requirements for motor oils and characteristics of motor oils. Follow part describes issues associated with the lubrication of combustion motors. Part cites main factors that affect the properties of motor oils i.e. fuel, water, glycol and dirt. Further is processed problem of motor working i.e. temperature, amount and consumption of oil. The last part describes the issues of biodegradability and actual requirements of application for motor oils.
Testing of motor oils
Čtveráček, Martin ; Novotný, Pavel (referee) ; Maršálek, Ondřej (advisor)
Summary and specification of testing combustion engines motor oils are mentioned in this bachelor’s thesis. First chapter describes types of wear and its incidence in combustion engines. The main topic of this thesis is methods of testing motor oils by means of tribotechnical diagnostic tests. Next chapter is about defectoscopic methods and describes its use. The last part of this thesis deals with periods of oil change.
Tribotechnická diagnostika prvonáplní motorového oleje z motorů osobních automobilů
Prokeš, David
The master thesis Tribotechnical diagnostics of first-fill engine oil from passenger car engines deals with the composition, production, distribution, wear and tear, specification of passenger car engine oils and their diagnostics and evaluation during use and wear. The research part of the thesis deals with the classification of lubricants and their brief description, classification of engine oils and a brief description of their manufacture. Subsequently, the basic concepts related to the above topic are described. The experimental part of the thesis deals with the methodology, material and actual measurement of selected parameters for the assessment of engine oil condition during engine break-in of new passenger cars. The selected indicators are the amount and morphology of particles, determination of the water content of engine oil, alkaline reserve, oxidation and additive content. The following diagnosis of the condition of the primary engine oil confirmed the assumption of a higher content of wear metals. An interesting result was the detection of higher oxidation rates in engine oils, which may be a consequence of long storage periods before the car is sold.
Průběžné sledování degradace motorového oleje ve sklízecí mlátičce
Dvořák, Martin
This thesis deals with description of engine oils in diesel combustion engine of combine harvester. First part contains basic properties of engine oils and their production. Other chapters include classification of oil and also the issue of abrasion particles in the engine. Practical part contain summary of engine oil from combine harvester Case IH AFX 9120. For comparison was sampled new oil. Other samples were taken during machine operation every 50 Eh until of the service interval of 300 Eh. The thesis also describes the methodology of measurement process measuring device for evaluation of the content abrasion particles, density, dynamic and kinematic viscosity and skid tension. The results are processed into a graph and from the results obtained was determined actual state of degradation of engine oil.
Nové trendy v automobilových motorových olejích
Šenkyřík, Michal
This bachelor's thesis deals with a current view on engine oils available on today's market. Important physical properties of oils are described. The chemical composition and manufacturing methods of both mineral and synthetic oils are characterized and engine oils are divided into groups. Oil additives are also adressed. Afterwards, current american and european oil viscosity and quality classification systems are described. The thesis also dedicates one chapter to racing oils and their differences when compared to common oils. Next, the oil storage, manupulation and recyclation methods are thoroughly presented. The experimental part consist of a classification of 4 chosen oil samples. Used equipment and measurement methods are depicted in detail. Viscosity values at key temperatures are measured. The results are compiled into an table, and are compared to oil's safety data sheets and discussed. The thesis is closed by an overview of trending movements in engine lubrication and a prognosis of development in the upcoming times.
Degradace motorového oleje ve sklízecí mlátičce
Halenka, Milan
This Master's thesis focuses on the problematics of the diesel engine oil in the combine harvesters degradation. The first part focuses on the manufacturing process of the en-gine oils, on their structure, on the description of their properties and on their division into individual classifications. Types of the lubrication systems and the diagnostics of the engine oils are described next. Seven samples of oil were monitored, three of them were samples of used engine oil from the combine harvesters Claas, where the engine oil with viscosity grade 10W-40 was used. Next two samples were from used oil from the combine harvesters Case IH, where was the engine oil with viscosity grade 15W-40. Two samples of new oil of each kind were taken for the comparison of the engine oil degradation. Their physical and mechanical properties were compared afterwards. The results obtained are interpreted both numerically and graphically. In the conclusion, the evaluation and the results obtained are summarized.
Vliv aditivace na mazací schopnost motorového oleje
Kouřil, Radim
This thesis describes the influence of selected additive on lubricating abilities of motor oil. The first part describes the basic properties of engine oils, types of additives, their production and distribution. Further, basic tribological properties such as friction, wear, lubricity, lubricity and viscosity are described. In the second part of the thesis was measured the influence of additive on lubricating ability of engine oil. The measurement was divided into two basic parts. The first part was devoted to the measurement of abrasion and the second was to measure the density and viscosity of the separate engine oils and the additive additive. The measurement results were tabulated. At the end, a summary and discussion of the measured results was performed.

Pukl, Zdeněk
The thesis is focused on the operational degradation of engine oil in four-stroke motorcycles and is dividend into two parts. The first part of the thesis is focused on the theoretical part, where tribology, lubricants and lubrication system is described. The experimental part of the work is focused on examineting engine oil degradation due to mileage. First, the monitored motorcycles and used oils are described. The results of measured density, viscosity and content of individual substances occurring in oils are described. Finally, a discussion and comparison of resulted trends with other experiments is performed.
