Mobile reporting

Primary goal of this Bachelor thesis is to analyse chosen pairs of mobile devices and reporting applications in order to find the most suitable combination for purposes of mobile reporting. This analysis takes place in pursuance of mapping current situation on the market of appropriate mobile applications and for facilitating the choice of suitable mobile reporting solutions for potential customers. For achieving the primary goal, the author used multicriterial selection. Secondary goal is familiarizing the reader with the issues of Business Intelligence, reporting and mobile devices. The global market was analysed on basis of presented knowledge for the purpose of choosing the right combinations for further testing. Furthermore, the thesis determines evaluated criteria later used for testing purposes. Thesis informs about this process and analyses the results, therefore completing its primary goal.
Creation of principles of the mobile reporting development and their practical verification.

This diploma thesis deals with design principles of mobile reporting. In the introduction the difference between report and dashboard is described because these two concepts are usually falsely perceived. Then a compilation of a list of properties follows, which of them a well-designed dashboard should have and this is the main objective of this thesis. In its content the document describes, how to achieve certain properties, what to avoid in the layout and recommended features which can help to end users to simplify and streamline the work. These recommendations are also applied in practice by using some examples. The description is given, including workflow and available options of the selected tools. This thesis offers detailed instructions, how to form mobile dashboards, including comments and opinions provided by end users. I find this as the main benefits of this thesis.

Bachelor thesis is focused on the market of mobile devices, the market of application for mobile reporting and multi-criteria selection of appropriate applications and devices for the simulated situation. In the theoretical part introduces the reader to the basic division of mobile devices that are suitable for mobile reporting and their advantages and disadvantages resulting from this review. It also provides an idea of the options available reporting applications for these devices. The practical part of the document contains a description of the methodology and its subsequent application to a specific example, which is based on knowledge and conclusions which were described in the theoretical part.
