Administration of digital library
Havelka, Michal ; Balej, Jiří (referee) ; Číka, Petr (advisor)
The diploma thesis is focused on problematic of management of digital libraries, more precisely it’s focused on standard MPEG-7 ISO/IEC 15938. The thesis defines description of multimedia content, its basic rules and more deeply it describes work with static visual data. The practical part of the thesis is focused on creating standalone application in programming language Java. Its purpose is using XML files to manage, save, search and for general work with visual data and its parameters. An application is focused on Scalable Color and Dominant Color descriptors and propose alternative calculation procedure by variable parameters.
Methods for Determining the Similarity of Images
Jandera, Pavel ; Říha, Kamil (referee) ; Číka, Petr (advisor)
Thesis in theoretical part deals with the procedures used in image databases searching. There are discussed two basic possible approaches - text based searching and content based searching. In next section there are described methods for image similarity detection. Practical part deals with detailed description and implementation of three selected image features used for image searching. In third part there are presented testing procedure for implemented algorithms and test results. In conclusion implementation of Rapidminer operator are described. This operator uses all implemented algorithms and allows image similarity matching, searching for most similar images in database, and copy these images to output folder.
Knowledge Discovery in Multimedia Databases
Jurčák, Petr ; Řezníček, Ivo (referee) ; Chmelař, Petr (advisor)
This master's thesis is dedicated to theme of knowledge discovery in Multimedia Databases, especially basic methods of classification and prediction used for data mining. The other part described about extraction of low level features from video data and images and summarizes information about content-based search in multimedia content and indexing this type of data. Final part is dedicated to implementation Gaussian mixtures model for classification and compare the final result with other method SVM.
Multimodal Database Search
Krejčíř, Tomáš ; Stryka, Lukáš (referee) ; Chmelař, Petr (advisor)
The field that deals with storing and effective searching of multimedia documents is called Information retrieval. This paper describes solution of effective searching in collections of shots. Multimedia documents are presented as vectors in high-dimensional space, because in such collection of documents it is easier to define semantics as well as the mechanisms of searching. The work aims at problems of similarity searching based on metric space, which uses distance functions, such as Euclidean, Chebyshev or Mahalanobis, for comparing global features and cosine or binary rating for comparing local features. Experiments on the TRECVid dataset compare implemented distance functions. Best distance function for global features appears to be Mahalanobis and for local features cosine rating.
Object Description in Images
Dvořák, Pavel ; Šmirg, Ondřej (referee) ; Zukal, Martin (advisor)
This thesis consider description of segments identified in image. At first there are described main methods of segmentation because it is a process contiguous before describing of objects. Next chapter is devoted to methods which focus on description identified regions. There are studied algorithms used for characterizing of different features. There are parts devoted to color, location, size, orientation, shape and topology. The end of this chapter is devoted to moments. Next chapters are focused on designing fit algorithms for segments description and XML files creating according to MPEG-7 standards and their implementation into RapidMiner. In the last chapter there are described results of the implementation.
Application for automatic labeling of multimedia data
Novák, Andrej ; Burget, Radim (referee) ; Číka, Petr (advisor)
Bachelor thesis focuses on issues of managing Multimedia database focusing on standard MPEG-7, the components and criteria of this standard will be the key to the managing of static digital images, because the MPEG-7 standard defines the description of multimedia content. Practical part will contain a programmed application, which will work with managing and storing multimedia database based on MPEG-7 standard.
