Alemkhanova, Karina ; Marek, Jiří (referee) ; Šindlar, Jiljí (advisor) ; Pěnčík, Jan (advisor)
The area is located in the city of Brno-Zábrdovice, which is directly adjacent to the historical center of Brno. This is a corner plot to cross Milady Horakove and Prikop. The architectural design responds to the diversity and height of the surrounding buildings, as well as the proximity of the historic center. The idea of a cube - a simple shape that interacts with the surrounding building and brings order to the space, a simple solution to the concept of matter. It is a three and four-storey building with one underground floor. The cube is divided on the first floor into two entrance buildings. The first building is the main entrance to the Community Center and the café, and the second is the retail space kept as a bookstore. The entrances to the first floor, which is designed mainly for pedestrians, located in the courtyard entrance and the entire southeast wall of the café with showcases go in line with the pavement that is along Mylady Horákové Street. The next floors have a dynamic and tiered shape with a predominant function for cultural, educational, educational and commercial activities, galleries and gathering space. Due to its scale, the mass of the building itself is divided into two parts by means of a suspended facade from a U-profile over three floors. The facade of the building dynamically alternates with its rhythm and with playful compositional elements it accentuates the mass of the house or, on the contrary, relaxes and relieves it in places.
