Hemp as an alternative fuel
Jaworská, Petra ; Zejda, Vojtěch (referee) ; Hudák, Igor (advisor)
Bachelor thesis as literary research deals with possibilities of using hemp as an energy crop and its development and sustainability in the future. Production of hemp bio-fuels in Czech Republic is in the beginning but increasing interest in alternative energy sources presumes development in this branch. Producing bio-fuels made of hemp biomass brings many positive benefits in liquid, gas or solid states. Liquid biodiesel made of hemp presents alternative source of energy that can be used in common diesel engines. Hemp hurds briquettes are the most used hemp fuel in our country. Hemp briquettes has perfect properties in comparison to other sources. High heat of combustion, low purchase price and environmental friendliness gives motivation to create new growing branches. Second most common use is biogas fuel. Biogas is produced in usual biofermenter using hemp biomass often with admixture of slurry. Hemp biogas properties are also very satisfactory. In Czech Republic is huge potential in development and production of hemp biogas due to large number of biogas plants. Despite financially demanding processing of the hemp biomass the amount of biomass grow during one year makes this plant one of the most profitable alternative source for production of bio-fuels.
Use of composite flours for the preparation of common bakery products
UHLÍŘOVÁ, Lenka
The topic of the thesis is the use of composite flours for the preparation of common bakery products. Alternative flours made from the extracts of three kinds of oilseed crops (flax plant, hemp, milk thistle) and beetroot were used. The first part of the thesis is devoted to the theoretical part offering a general overview of common bakery products in terms of legislation, commonly used raw materials and production technology. Furthermore, the crops from which the com-posite flour was processed are described. The second part of the thesis is focused on the practical part, which is based on a baking experiment using enriching composite flours. Ten types of buns were ma-de with different types of composite flours.
Vliv technologie pěstování konopí setého (Canabis sativa L.) na kvalitu produktu a jeho využití.
BOUCHAL, Roman
The aim of this work was to statistically evaluate the effect of elicitors on the product and its use. In the first part of my thesis I dealt with botanical characteristics, agrotechnics, chemical composition, methods of determination of active substances, pharmacological effects of some active substances and others. In the practical part, I analyzed the influence of elicitors on the content of active substances. In addition to NanoFYT Si?, the ASA elicitor was used in three different concentrations, low [10-5 mol / l], medium [10-4 mol / l] and high [10-3 mol / l]. Finally, I made a statistical evaluation of individual experiments, comparison with other published experiments and a proposal of technology of cultivation and utilization of cannabis.
Alleopathic potential of plants of hemp (\kur{Cannabis sativa})
KLEJNA, Tomáš
The aim of the work was to compare the effects of germinating seeds, fresh flowers and aqueous extracts from fresh and dried parts (leaves and flowers) of hemp plants on seed germination of model crops - wheat, oats, white mustard, narrow-leaved lupin, white clover and lettuce in laboratory conditions. After 3 days of germination, the total length of the roots and shoots was measured. In individual variants, the relative allelopathic effect, average germination and statistical significance were evaluated. The effect of the distance of germinating seeds from samples of hemp material was also monitored. The effect of germinating hemp seeds, with the exception of oats, has not proved to be very significant. The effect of parts and aqueous extracts of hemp plants was as follows: -statistically significant inhibitory effect of the aqueous extract of the dried flower on the germination of wheat -statistically significant inhibitory effect of fresh flowers and extract from dried leaves of flowering plants on the germination of oats, there is also a statistically significant effect of the distance of germinating seeds from the sample of hemp material -statistically significant inhibitory effect of fresh flowers and extracts of fresh and dried leaves on the germination of white mustard, there is also an effect on average germination values -practically no or stimulating effect on the germination of legumes: narrow-leaved lupins and white clover -statistically significant inhibitory effect of fresh flowers and fresh leaf extract on lettuce germination, again with an effect on average germination
Utilization of Cannabis Sativa in Teaching Chemistry
Stránská, Adéla ; Holada, Karel (advisor) ; Beneš, Pavel (referee)
The diploma thesis deals with Cannabis sativa. The aim is to focus on possible utilization of Cannabis sativa in teaching chemistry. The theoretical part describes the botany of cannabis, overviews phytocannabinoids, substances contained in cannabis, and it also includes wide use of cannabis in agriculture and industry. The practical part deals with the selection and arrangement of a possible curriculum about chromatography as the most affordable technique for analysis of cannabis at school, including the formulation of school experiment methodology using the thin-layer chromatography of Cannabis sativa extract to demonstrate the presence of phytocannabinoids. The practical part also includes the scheme of an educational project on cannabis and describes the latest techniques, as well as the methodology of work with them, which are suitable for analysis of phytocannabinoids.

Study of germination and emergence of industial hemp seeds
ŘEZÁČOVÁ, Veronika
Nowadays hemp is listed among plants with a wide range of potentials. It can be used as a source of fibre, oil, food or medicine. The aim of this work was to investigate optimal conditions for hemp seed germination grown in laboratory as well as field conditions and to propose the application of acquired findings. Hemp seed was split into 2 size groups: above 3 mm and 2 - 3 mm. Divided seeds with the humidity level of 6, 9 and 12% were stored at the temperature of 0, 8 and 20? 1°C for half a year. In 2 months interval, there were evaluated: germination, energy of sprouting, speed of sprouting, further seed viability and laboratory emergence. From next influences were evaluated the influence of dryness, wetting, autotoxicity, exudates of perennial weeds, seed treatment with the infusion of field horsetail and the grown stimulator. The best germination and laboratory emergence had seeds stored at 0°C. Test of seed viability confirmed significant decline in live seeds stored over 4 months at the 0°C temperature. The best germination was achieved by seed size 2 - 3 mm. Hemp requires sufficient amount of water for germination. Leachates from rhizomes of couch grass inhibited germination of hemp by 10%. On the other hand, germination was significantly increased by the stimulator.
