Jindřiška Hálková Title: Basic principles of treatment and physiotherapy of Complex regional pain syndrome Subtitle: Influence of chronic symptoms by the method of Fascial manipulation ® in patient with Complex regional pain syndrome Abstract: The theoretical part of the bachelor's thesis provides a comprehensive overview of the issue of Complex Regional Pain Syndrome (CRPS). It details the development of terminology, epidemiology, pathophysiology, types of CRPS and stages of the syndrome. It characterizes in detail the clinical symptoms in patients. It provides a summary of new and proven methods used for treatment. It deals with both invasive and non-invasive methods (physiotherapy, psychotherapy, pharmacotherapy, occupational therapy and physical therapy). Finally, it deals with disorders of the body scheme in patients with CRPS and pediatric patients. The practical part of the bachelor's thesis uses a questionnaire survey to describe chronic symptoms in patients with CRPS in the Czech Republic. The survey completed by patients suffering from the condition uses a diverse range of questions in order to gain better scope about what living with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome is like. Jaromíra Uhlířová Possibility of occupational therapy interventions in traumatology: Interventions for patients with the upper limb complex regional pain syndrome diagnosis Abstract of the Bachelor's Thesis: Aim of this bachelor's thesis is to outline the current situation of the treatment of patients with complex regional pain syndrome - CRPS emphasizing rehabilitation in the health care including occupational therapy. The theoretical part is introducing problems of the actual diagnosis of CRPS. It is also summarizing individual diagnostic and possible interventions applied in the Czech Republic and in abroad. Aim of the practical part was to find out what types of processes are currently used in patients in Prague centres for pain treatment and other rehabilitation institutes and whether they correspond with therapeutic processes described in the theoretical part. Another aim of the practical part of the bachelor's thesis was to find out whether any occupational therapists work in pain treatment centres and what is their scope of duties. Annotation Objectives: Introduction of "mirror therapy" (MT) principles in patients with Type 1 complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS). Verification of the effectiveness of the MT in terms of sensory, functional and morphological changes. Participants: Sixteen patients (14 women and 2 men, age 55.3±10.5 years) and 10 controls (7 women and 3 men, age 54.9±7.6 years) were included in this study. All of them were diagnosed as patients with Type I CRPS. Methods and measure: The intervention group underwent 6 weeks of MT. Both groups recorded numerical scale pain for 6 weeks. At the beginning and end of the period, all probands underwent examination including: range of motion of wrist flexion and extension, thenar temperature side-to-side difference, volume of the hand and forearm, dynamometry, PegBoard, ability to close the fist, Wind-Up, referred sensations and EQ-5D-3L questionnaire. Results: A statistically significant reduction in pain at rest and during movement was found in the intervention group, not in the control group....
