This master´s thesis deals with the description of the current state of the UNIPLUS TOOL FACTORY division belonging to the ALEMA Lanškroun a.s. company, where I focus on the production process optimization. This thesis includes tool factory production process analysis focused on sub-goals to achieve the manufacturing process optimization in relation to the European Union customer.
Corporate profitability and the global persistence of corruption
Ferris, S. P. ; Hanousek, Jan ; Trešl, Jiří
We examine the persistence of corporate corruption for a sample of privately-held firms from 12 Central and Eastern European countries over the period 2001 to 2015. Creating a proxy for corporate corruption based on a firm’s internal inefficiency, we find that corruption enhances a firm’s profitability. A channel analysis further reveals that inflating staff costs is the most common approach by which firms divert funds to finance corruption. We conclude that corruption persists because of its ability to improve a firm’s return on assets, which we refer to as the Corporate Advantage Hypothesis.
Financial analysis of company focused on providing of services
KUDLÁČKOVÁ, Nikola
This bachelor thesis investigates a financial situation of a company. For evaluating of company's financial situation methods and tools leading to examination of activity, stability, liquidity and profitability are used. The aim of this thesis is to discover the main sources of inefficiency in connection with the focus of the company and to suggest measures for their elimination. For this aim a financial analysis is used. The principle of the financial analysis is evaluation of the present state and the past development on the base of analysis of financial statements. In connection with market expectations the results of the financial analysis help to forecast the future development of the company. The most important part of the financial analysis is a commentary and draft of measures leading to stability and more effective business functioning.

Optimization of production process in company Atron. .
Dolinin, Maxim ; Svobodová, Hana (advisor) ; Mejdrech, Vlastimil (referee)
This Bachelor Thesis should acquaint the reader with the basic principles of the Theory of Constraints and principles of optimization in production systems. Here will be demonstrated some tools of the Theory of Constraints on a practical example of company Atron. The main goal of this thesis is to find inefficiency in specific production system (mechanical department of the company Atron) with use of available data and information and suggest possible solutions of the problems. The main method used in the practical part of the thesis is a descriptive method involving collection, analysis and synthesis of available data relevant to the subject. To find inefficiencies and possible solutions in this work are also used some tools of the Theory of Constraints.
The Deadweight Loss of Christmas in the Czech Republic
Rottová, Tereza ; Janíčko, Martin (advisor) ; Svoboda, Miroslav (referee)
Gift-giving is a potential source of deadweight loss (DWL), which is by the standard microeconomic theory regarded as a loss of economic efficiency. The aim of this thesis is to determine how big was this DWL in the Czech Republic during Christmas of 2010. The DWL of gift-giving is based on the data collected from a questionnaire survey of 122 respondents who provided 366 observations. Respondents were asked to estimate the value of their gifts, based on their willingness to pay for them and their willingnes to sell them. The results indicate that there is deadweight loss of gift-givnig in the Czech Republic, ranging between 8,6 % and 10,9 % of market price.
Examination and measuring of Oracle database system b-tree index inefficiency
Klepetko, Vítězslav ; Macák, Petr (advisor) ; Palovská, Helena (referee)
This thesis describes the Oracle database b-tree index and compares it to the concept of a b-tree as a graph theory structure. It analyses main factors causing inefficiency in b-tree index which emerge during DML queries execution. It shows to what extent the inefficiency manifests and describes ways of dealing with it. For the purpose of index mechanism analysis a method called block dumping is used. The level of inefficiency is determined by measuring queries duartion in a database created for that purpose. Inner fragmentation of index database block, segment fragmentation and high value of clustering factor are identified as main inefficiency-causing factors.
