Mechanical Properties of Plastics
Pavlíková, Petra ; Nezbedová, Eva (referee) ; Molliková, Eva (advisor)
Diploma paper deals with fracture toughtness of pipe type HDPE. The influence of material structure on its fracture toughness at temperature 0°C and 23°C measured by PSI test was determined. Experimental results were compared with gained results of S4 test and the conclusions about usage of PSI test in screening of impact properties of polymeric materials were formulated.
Study of relation between conditions of the test FNCT (Full Notched Creep) and the rate of crack grow SCG (Slow Crack Growth) for evaluating HDPE cut growth resistance
Porubský, Tomáš ; Sadílek, Jiří (referee) ; Petrůj, Jaroslav (advisor)
Theoretical part of this thesis presents summary of material and testing parameters which influence SCG and consequently the duration of the FNCT test. The experimental part focuses on modification of testing conditions of FNCT test in order to minimize the test time. FNCT tests were performed for four types of surfactants: Arkopal N110, Sodium dodecylbenzensulfonate (NaDBS), Disponil LDBS55 and Simulsol SL8. The most pronounced accelerating effect was observed for NaDBS surfactant, which in comparsion with commonly used Arkopal N110 doubled the test speed at the same concentration (11 %) and other test conditions. The accelerating effect of NaDBS was also observed for two different PE grades: Liten VB85 and VL 20N. Under the test conditions 80 °C and 4 MPa, 5% NaDBS water solution caused for VL 20N almost 12,5-fold acceleration compared to conventional 2% Arkopal N110 and almost 8,5-fold acceleration for VB 85. The correlation between wettability of surfactant solution and FNCT time to fracture was found.
The pump station design for hydro-mixture transport
Béreš, Matej ; Štigler, Jaroslav (referee) ; Habán, Vladimír (advisor)
This master’s thesis is concerned about the flow of hydro-mixture in pipelines. In the first part, I am reviewing the characteristics of disperse systems, pumps and pipelines used in hydro-mixture transportation. Slurry pumps and polyethylene HDPE pipelines receive an extra attention. In the second part, I am working with data obtained from the co-operation with the PROGROUPE Sediment Removal company. These data were measured during revitalization of the water dam Gabčíkovo. In the next step, I use the data to suggest the required characteristic for the slurry pump for pump station in project of revitalizing Borovoe lake, situated in Kazakhstan.
Study of Relation between HDPE Internal Structure and Its Cut Growth Resistance SCG (Slow Crack Growth)
Chladil, Martin ; Žídek, Jan (referee) ; Petrůj, Jaroslav (advisor)
This thesis deals with the relation between structure and resistance to failure by the mechanism of slow crack growth (SCG) in HDPE. In the theoretical part there are summarized previously acquired knowledge about the production of PE and about the relation between structure and resistance to failure by the SCG mechanism. In the experimental part, three samples of HDPE with the same melt index MI and the same content of copolymer 1- hexene were synthesized by using three chromium catalysts commonly used for polymerization in industry. There samples were analyzed by GPC-IR-MALS and TREF in order to determine the distribution of side chain branches. The results were discussed with respect to the time to failure FNCT.
A proposal of technology of a playing element for children's playground
Řepová, Vanda ; Sedlák, Josef (referee) ; Sliwková, Petra (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with a proposal of technology of a playing element for children's playground. To create an original, playful, yet educationally dependent element, it is necessary to choose a suitable material, follow safety standards and use appropriate production technologies. Proposal of production includes description of components, selection of material, tools, machine and creation of production drawing.
Model of the metropolitan optical network
Prudík, Jiří ; Hudcová, Lucie (referee) ; Křivák, Petr (advisor)
The purpose of this master’s thesis is foremost to provide a simple guide how to build elements of optical metropolitan area network. The basic model consists to sequence of construction, network topology, passive and active parts. The collection contains examples of alternative technology such as Wireless LAN with different frequency. The optical network construction based on optical cable, fibres, splices, trays, adapters, connectors and active parts for example a lot of media convertor models. After that there are demonstrating type of wavelength division multiplexer used in metropolitan area network – passive planar PCL splitter. One of the passive planar splitter are used to increase optical fibre channel. At the end of the collection a simplified examples of used measurements – optical time domain reflectometry and optical fibre transmission. Contains standard protocols or reflectogram. The conclusion of this thesis summarizes costs of FTTb (Fibre To The Building) model of optical metropolitan area network in Czech republic and future contribution for society.
Overview of important polymers for technical practice
VAŠEK, Lukáš
Bachelor thesis focus mainly for a creating a graphical Educational sheet with a teaching subject like "materials and technology" or for a study on lower school levels. The Educational sheets are providing 15 of the most common used polymers along with their properties that the data can be immediately used by other students. The benefit and the goal are to prepare a basic brochure elementary property of the most widely used polymers with which it is possible to study the encounter.
