Design and development of thin client for infrastructure cloud based on Android platform
Andrle, Tomáš ; Bruckner, Tomáš (advisor) ; Žamberský, Martin (referee)
This diploma thesis deals with the issue of the development of mobile thin client application which is able to manage commercial infrastructure cloud service. The introduction section provides an overview of the necessary terminology and presents the problem domain that is a subject of this thesis. Besides the project itself, of which result is the main output of this work, is also the part dedicated to research of current theses, school information resources, guidelines, recommendations and methodologies that covers topics of design and implementation of graphical user interfaces for mobile devices, especially for those that have the Android operating system installed. Information obtained on basis of the research is after used as a default knowledge base for design and implementation of the presentation layer of the previously mentioned application. The next aim of this thesis is to make analysis of requirements for new application which is being developed. The requirements are then transformed into conceptual design, to which is bound the explanation of implementation of individual application layers. UML was mainly used for the modeling of the application parts design in environment of the Sybase PowerDesigner. The programming process was performed by usage of the development environment called Eclipse SDK. Benefit of this diploma thesis lies in the possibility of reusing its concentrated knowledge resulting from the research dealing with the problems of creating GUI for mobile devices. Programmer, who is untouched in this specialization, will be able to use this part of the thesis as a critical study material which has been verified in practice. Cloud infrastructure solution providers can find there an inspiration for their own mobile thin client application.
Testing GUI applications in Java
Šimko, David ; Pavlíčková, Jarmila (advisor) ; Borovcová, Anna (referee)
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to provide a theoretical background for GUI testing, to perform market analysis of tools that are available for GUI testing and to demonstrate practically GUI testing using one selected tool. The goals in the first part are achieved through the analysis of scientific literature, scientific articles and Internet sources. In the second part of this work it was necessary to manage the practical aspects of testing and to take over the analysis of the current market for testing GUI applications. The benefit of this work is a summary of theoretical knowledge about the particular topic, current overview of available tools and practical demonstration of one testing tool. The work is divided into two parts. The aim of the theoretical part is to clarify and define the basic concepts and issues. The practical part focuses on mapping the tool market and practical demonstration of GUI testing using the Abbot tool.
Developing desktop Java applications with rich GUI
BÁLEK, Petr
This work aims to show examples of the advanced options that offer longer supplied as standard Java packages, where the greatest emphasis is placed on the package javax.swing and java.awt. In this work, of course, created and given exemplary examples that are built on the above packages. Circuits, which work as the animation, effects static and dynamic convolution filters, gradients, alpha composition, and other another topics.
Graphical User Interface in MATLAB v7.1
BRABEC, František
The main aim of this bachelor thesis is focused on the creation of the text, which serves as a tool for creation and development of a graphic interface in the programming language MATLAB. The content of this thesis is focused on the basic introduction to the MATLAB programming package, its history, creation of m-files and description of the work during the creation of the Graphical User Interface. The main accent is put firstly on the correct proposal of the GUI application, on its utility and on its computational part in order to ensure the maximal effectiveness for users. By the combination of all these parts in GUI setting the application with a huge potential can be created.
Graphical user interface for filter design in frequency domain
Řezáč, M. ; Holub, O. ; Augusta, Petr ; Hurák, Z.
The paper presents Matlab graphical user interface(GUI) for frequency domain design of filters and shows its application on a practical example of controller design for laboratory system with flexible arm. GUI helps to simplify the procedure of H_infty optimization based loopshaping controller design. This Metod is describe in detail e.g. in the book [Skogestad a Postlethwaite, 2005]. The method inputs are, besides the controller plant, so-called weighting filters, that represent control goals.
Analysis of the graphical user interface on regionals websites
Chekavy, Alexey ; Toman, Prokop (advisor) ; Pavlíček, Antonín (referee)
This work has the aim to analyze the current situation in the usability of web sites, to set aside the basic principles and ideas. The practical part is analysis of the graphical user interface on web pages of Olomouc, Pardubice and Central regions. After that I'll try to compare these web sites and find site with the best and worst user interface.
Proposal for a well-use graphical user interface, data-based transactional applications
Moudrý, Vojtěch ; Šedivá, Zuzana (advisor) ; Stanovská, Iva (referee)
This thesis aims describe principles that are essential for creating data-based transaction applications. At the same time it should serve as a methodological description of the development of a particular type of applications as well as presenting the correct solution and common mistakes. The first chapters focus on explaining the concept of a graphical user interface from its inception to the present. Describes the current possibilities of the application development and explains why today is put so much emphasis on the GUI. Another part is devoted to clarify the differences in transaction data-oriented applications from other application software. It explains the basic principles of operation and points out the wrong solutions, which are in turn supplemented with correct ones. At the end of the thesis there is mentioned, from the author point of view, an ideal solution for designing application that eliminates all the shortcomings described in the previous chapters. The theoretical part is based on the available literature and author's own experience. The practical part is made up and based on author's own knowledge and skilled colleagues working in this field.
Comparison of the development of graphical user interface in Swing and wxWidgets
Hrubý, Jan ; Pavlíčková, Jarmila (advisor) ; Kureš, Richard (referee)
Thesis deals with comparison of two popular programming libraries for the creating the graphical user interface. First is Swing where it is used Java language and the second is wxWidgets in C++. The main goal of my thesis is objectively compare strong and weak points of these two libraries concerning about factors like rapidity of development, platform independent, rapidity of user interface, facility of globalization, development of new components and creation of distribution programme. This comparison can make easier the choice of library for specific project and thank to using simple and practical examples, it is easier to understand and adopt mechanism of these libraries. Thesis is divided into Swing part and wxWidgets part. Each part starts with description of a way how the library is used. I will demonstrate implementation of simple application and creation of new user interface components. At the end I will write general comparison of both libraries according to established criteria.
Graphical user interface design
Dohnal, Tomáš ; Rosický, Antonín (advisor) ; Brixí, Radim (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to explain basic principles of graphical user interface design. In the first chapter is outlined the evolution of graphical user interface from his grounds to present days. Secondly is introduced the main principles of user interface design and shortly characterized his main elements. Finally is part of the design process depicted on examples from designing author's software application.
