Shapes of Growth
Gehringerová, Bára ; Těthalová, Gabriela (referee) ; Štindlová, Marie (advisor)
The author has been working on the motif of the plant in her work for a long time. She uses them as a metaphor, inspiration and a means to contemplate natural, social and psychological systems. In her bachelor's project she will develop this theme, continuing to explore the similarities between the plant and the human, both formally, in the construction of bodies, and above all in the way each entity exists, for example, in the possibilities of coping with external stresses and supportive influences, in the process of growth and development. The exploration of the plant world is a means of contemplating the human one and their interrelation. Plants thus also become a projection screen, a character narrating the social dynamics of human communities and the psychological processes of the author herself and human beings in general. The aim of the bachelor's work is to create a coherent series of paintings dealing with the theme of human experience through the symbol of the plant.

Švantnerová, Izabela ; Fišerová, Lucia (referee) ; Gravlejs, Ivars (advisor)
We dedicate ourselves to the time of our rest, which many of us look forward to all day long. However, there are those among us who do not consider night, dreaming and sleep to be a time of rest. Sleep disorders are an unpleasant part of many of us and are becoming an increasingly discussed topic / problem. Sleep paralysis does not give us obvious answers to reality and dream - The work deals with monsters that become our houseplants during the night. And it is these monsters that are the basis for the ominous sleep experience. How else to deal with fear than to get to know him and understand him. So we create an "encyclopedia" of night monsters / flowers, based on which are illustrations of different people from different groups, working with the supplied materials and creating prototypes of a scary creature.
Selected alcohol extracts of Sambucus nigra for use in cosmetology
Balonková, Daniela ; Doležalová Weissmannová, Helena (referee) ; Zemanová, Jana (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the preparation of selected alcohol extracts of elderberry and their use in cosmetology. In the theoretical part are described the botanical properties of the elderberry (Sambucus nigra). There are introduced and characterized bioactive compounds and toxic compounds contained in all vegetative parts of the plant. Attention is mostly focused on compounds with antioxidant properties. The theoretical part also contains a description of basic analytical methods, which are used in the practical part to characterize compounds contained in elder flowers. The practical part focuses on the optimization of the preparation of alcohol extracts with the aim to prepare the extract with the greatest possible content of polyphenols with respect to economy and production costs. Factors such as selection of the appropriate solvent, solvent to plant material ratio, solvent temperature, and extraction time are examined. Based on the total polyphenol concentration measured spectrophotometrically by the Folin-Ciocalteu method, the most suitable solvent is 60% ethanol, the ratio of plant material to solvent is 1:8, the laboratory temperature of solvent and the extraction time of 24 hours.Under these conditions, an ethanol extract is prepared, analyzed and determined selected properties, such as refractive index and density. Rutin, chlorogenic, caffeic and ferulic acids are identified by HPLC with a DAD detector. The pH value of alcohol extract is 5.743 ± 0.006, the refractive index is 1.365 ± 0.02 at 22.7 ° C and the density is 0.9288 gcm-3. By liquid chromatography the concentration of chlorogenic acids is quantified as 0.104 gl-1, caffeic acid as 0.086 gl-1 and ferulic acid as 0.060 gl-1. The extract is incorporated into cosmetic products, that are used in balneology. Prepared products are toilet soap and bath salt.

This paper is focus on flowers recognition in an image and class classification. Theoretical part is focus on problematics of deep convolutional neural networks. The practical part if focuse on created flowers database, with which it is further worked on. The database conteins it total 13000 plant pictures of 26 spicies as cornflower, violet, gerbera, cha- momile, cornflower, liverwort, hawkweed, clover, carnation, lily of the valley, marguerite daisy, pansy, poppy, marigold, daffodil, dandelion, teasel, forget-me-not, rose, anemone, daisy, sunflower, snowdrop, ragwort, tulip and celandine. Next is in the paper described used neural network model Inception v3 for class classification. The resulting accuracy has been achieved 92%.
International Trade with Flowers

Respondents were selected by random sampling. The interviews are used to gather information about the problematics. The questions mainly concern the purchase of flowers, their transport, storage and frequency of purchase. The gained information is summarized at the end of the thesis.
Educative possibilities on flowers and fruits morphology in examples of important plant species
SLÁDKOVÁ, Eva
The diploma thesis follows up on the issues addressed in the bachelor's thesis. It focuses on the possibilities of teaching the morphological structures of flowers and fruits of flowering plants. The results are transformed into a form that can be used effectively in teaching. The work contains several teaching materials.
