This thesis is a case study focusing on field social workers in marginalized Roma communities in Slovakia, their work and target group. The aim of the thesis is to identify mechanisms to combat generational poverty among Roma in Slovakia. The research question is: "What tools do field social workers use to combat poverty among Roma from marginalized Roma communities (MRC) in Slovakia and what tools do they use with a similar target group abroad?" The qualitative research was carried out in the form of structured in-depth interviews with six fieldworkers working with Roma from the MRC in different regions of Slovakia. Three social workers were employed under non-profit organizations, three under a national project. Hypothesis 1: State support in the fight against poverty is insufficient, therefore the third sector helps to fight poverty. Hypothesis 2: Non-profit organisations have their own mechanisms that they use when working with clients to help them move out of generational poverty. Hypothesis 3: Roma are unable to integrate into mainstream society due to living in generational poverty, which is the same in different excluded communities around the world. The research was preceded by a theoretical part describing national projects and projects of non-profit organisations targeting people in...

And "What barriers of case management methods do organizations identify?". The research group consisted of representatives of organizations that provide field social services "field program" according to Act No. 108/2006 Coll., On social services, as amended. In order to be able to participate in the research, organizations need to operate in the territory of the South Bohemian Region. For the first partial research question, the following clusters were identified: cooperation, teamwork, networking of the client. For the second sub-research question, the following clusters were identified: support, networking and new perspectives. For the third research question, the following clusters were identified: low development of case management, competition, small amount of literature, educational events. It is a field service with vast majority of work being done within family environment, rarely accompanied by an ambulance service. This provides a great benefit, as is mentioned in theoretical part of thesis. Multitude of new developments concerning education, financing or work itself happened in the last couple years. The main objective of this thesis is to describe main changes that happened within in several South Bohemia early intervention centers in the last 10 years. This goal should provide a summary of both operational and financial challenges as well as new early intervention methods for better work with client himself. The practical part of this uses a qualitative approach. A semi-structured interview consisting of 10 questions is employed, with 5 professionals from early intervention care from 3 centers in South Bohemia as respondents. Their professions are described in order to compare differences between opinions of administrative workers and care assistants. The interview was most concerned with changed made because of new trends, and whether those were concerned to be positive or negative. Answers were analyzed with the use of clustering method. In conclusion, vast differences were observed in early intervention field 10 years ago and today. Both methods of financing and education of assistants as well as enlargement of number of workers or capacity of centers changed greatly within the past decade.
