Fingerprint biometry
Kubica, Roman ; Jiřík, Radovan (referee) ; Fedra, Petr (advisor)
The first part of this thesis deals with principles of evaluation biometric methods of scanning fingerprint images. Classification and description of single methods, separated into groups depending on the algorithm of comparison of template and image from database are included. In the next part is thesis focused on evaluation based on the success of experimental results and description of available databases. The main purpose of this thesis is creation of computer program for identification of fingerprint image in the programming interface MATLAB®. Realized identification algorithm is based on computing of Poincare index and extraction of singular points and minutiae. Performance of the program is tested on generated database and evaluated by index FAR and FRR.
Finger vein biometrics
Bělehrádek, Stanislav ; Sekora, Jiří (referee) ; Mézl, Martin (advisor)
This thesis presents basic concepts in the field of biometrics, with a focus on optical methods of finger vein biometrics. The paper also contains additional information including physics and anatomy terms, which are important for understanding presented problems. Part of the thesis is draft of the device used for finger vein biometry and proposal of effective image preprocessing process for biometric purpose. Main part of the thesis contains creation and testing of such device. User interface is created in MATLAB and allows identification and verification of people with record in database. Biometric system is tested on group of 16 individuals. Achieved results are discussed and compared with results of similar devices.
Support for Fingerprint Authentication
Bartoň, Jaroslav ; Beran, Vítězslav (referee) ; Mlích, Jozef (advisor)
The goal of the thesis is the finger-print authentication support within the Linux operating system and the K Desktop Environment (KDE). Theoretical part of the thesis firstly explains main IT security terms and ways to proof the identity. Secondly it describes biometric systems and types of processed biometric characteristics. Lastly the features of finger-prints, their markants as well as types of scanners used in scanning the finger-prints and ways to analyze the scanned material have been elaborated. Practical solution part of the thesis develops and establishes finger-print management application and plugin for KDM graphics login manager.
Dynamic Time Warping
Černohous, Lukáš ; Pikula, Stanislav (referee) ; Klusáček, Jan (advisor)
This thesis describes the method of dynamic Time Warping (DTW), its principles and method of calculation options. Additionally, it lists some of the typical examples of its implementation. In the practical part, it focuses on the creation oof a simple signature verification model using DTW and it evaluates the results. The model was programmed in MATLAB.

Recognition of Finger Veins of a Human Hand
Szalayová, Lucia ; Dvořák, Radim (referee) ; Drahanský, Martin (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with different ways of grayscale image processing of veins in a finger of human hand. The process consists of vein structure extraction, and then this structure is compared with collection of provided snapshots. First of all we introduced problem of biometric systems and image processing. There are presented also some commercial solutions from the same field. Within the detailed description of image processing we suggested different modifications in adaptive thresholding algorithm, feature extraction, which continues into comparison of vein structures. Thesis is closed by testing and final review.

Network access systems with biometric authentication technology
HANZAL, Vlastimil
The aim of this bachelor thesis is to process available variations of biometric methods which are used for an automatic identification or verification of people based on their anatomical-physiological or behavioural characteristics that are supposed to be unique, stable over time, practically measurable and technologically processable. These methods have already been used for hundreds of years for the identification of people and for various solutions of security. Today, these biometric methods are improved and connected with the modern information technology. The advantage of biometric methods is based on the identification of the basic essence of a man. Therefore, they are characterized by a high degree of protection against misuse and to following misuse of identity in comparison to a simple function of identification chip or another identification medium. The theoretical part consists of a description of a professional terminology primarily of a description of the biometrical authentication methods. Further on, there is an implementation of analysis of available solutions of biometrical systems in the environment of the Czech market. The choice of the biometrical system for the application in the practical part of this project has been made based on this information. Own project of authentication people at primary school with a help of used biometrical methods is proposed in practical part. And this method will be tested on available devices.
