Distributed measurement of acoustic vibrations and temperature
Bukovský, Jan ; Záviška, Pavel (referee) ; Münster, Petr (advisor)
This work deals with the problem of vibration and temperature measurement using standard telecommunication optical fibers. The main focus of this work is on the measurement of these parameters with distributed acoustic sensing systems (DAS). In this work are also discussed the issues of vibration and temperature measurement with distributed strain and temperature sensing systems (DSTS), with distributed temperature sensing systems (DTS) and with interferometric systems. As part of this work, measurements were made in the laboratory with a commercial DAS system. During these measurements, vibrations and temperature changes around the fiber were simulated. Several methods of data processing have been proposed to evaluate the measured data. The proposed methods of data processing and evaluation of the measured data can be found in the last part of this work.
The regulation of primary response genes by the ERK signaling pathway
Chvalová, Věra ; Vomastek, Tomáš (advisor) ; Doubravská, Lenka (referee)
The ERK signaling pathway represents an evolutionary conserved mechanism that enables cells to perceive various extracellular signals and convert them to a diverse array of biological outcomes such as proliferation, differentiation, cell cycle control, apoptosis or cell migration. Key components of this pathway are protein kinases Raf, MEK and the effector protein kinase ERK. In addition to its physiological role, continuous activation of the ERK pathway caused by somatic mutations of some of its components or upstream regulators appears to be significant cause of many human tumor diseases. That is why this pathway plays an important role also from the biomedical viewpoint. The multistep changes in gene expression are primarily responsible for these physiological and pathological events. Changes in genes expression are induced by activated kinase ERK that after translocation into the nucleus phosphorylates transcription factors (TFs) whose activation, in turn, leads to transcription of so-called immediate early genes (IEGs), many of which also code for other TFs (e.g. c-Fos, c-Jun or c-Myc). The latter TFs then regulate expression of further genes for structural and signaling proteins. This causes global changes in gene expression and leads to functional reprogramming of the cells. The Financial Arbiter in the Czech Republic
Rázová, Ilona ; Marková, Hana (advisor) ; Vybíral, Roman (referee)
The goal of this bachelor's thesis is to offer an explanation of issues connected with out-of-court settlements of disputes between financial institutions and their clients in the Czech Republic. It is represented by the Financial Arbiter, whose office was established for the purpose of harmonization of Czech law and that of the European Unions countries on 1st January 2003 through the Act No. 229/2002, concerning Financial Arbitration. This thesis deals with the origins of this post, legal basis for position of the Financial Arbiter in Czech law and his role and importance within the financial market. An important part is created with the analysis of the proceedings in front of the Financial Arbiter from its principles to the conclusion. Sample cases, which the Financial Arbiter handled, including types of solutions, are also researched. Finally, international cooperation is described in this thesis. And furthermore, there is also a similar institute working in the Great Britain mentioned in order to compare both of these offices.
