The Use of Children's and Young Adult Literature in History teaching in elementary school.

The submitteddiploma theses examines the possibilities of using children's and young adult literature in teaching History and considers its potential to fulfil goals of History class. Its theoretical part is devotedto currant discussiononthese goals and offers views of Czech and foreignexperts.An important part is examinationof existingmethodologies of workingwith fiction and consideration consider the benefits and risks that this medium offers. In the end of theses,twoteachinglessons are presented,whichare basedon contemporaryCzechworks from the ranks of literature for children and youth. These lessons were tested in primary schools and based on this experience, possible alternations to the program were added.
