Idioms in adolescent speakers: comprehension and active usage

Diploma thesis deals with idioms in adolescent speakers, their understanding of selected idioms and possible active use. The first part of the thesis, theoretical, deals with the basic concepts of idioms and also with the concepts related to the communication and group work of adolescent speakers. The theoretical part of the text is based mainly on the study of literature. The second part of the thesis, analytical, deals with the analysis of individual and group work of selected native speakers (2nd year and 4th year of eight-year grammar school). The analysis is structured according to the formed groups and then according to the types of exercises. The analysis was based on the processing of individual and group work and the transcription of recordings made during the group work. The children's legal representatives agreed to record and anonymously process the results for the purposes of the diplomas thesis. Key words czech, idioms, adolescents, comprehension, usage
