The most active CoMo/Al2O3, C and ZrO2 catalysts in benzothiophene HDS were prepared by the impregnation of the support from the solution made by dissolution of MoO3, CoCO3 and nitrilotriacetic acid in water followed by sulfidation without previous calcination.

Deposition of Mo and Co Sulfides on Unconventional Silica-alumina Supports for Model Hydrotreating Reactions

The mesoporous silica-alumina (SA) was modified by acid leaching which was accompanied with increase of the BET surface area and exposition of strong acidity in cumene cracking and in cyklohexene isomerization. The acid leaching positively affected the activities of the sulfided CoMo catalysts in benzothiophene HDS.
