Possibilities of remote geomorphological mapping of dolines in the conditions of the Bohemian Karst
Hochmanová, Lucie ; Křížek, Marek (advisor) ; Uxová, Tereza (referee)
The study of karst areas is important for the inventory of local forms and their subsequent protection. The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to create a database and determine the morphometric characteristics of dolines in the protected landscape area of the Czech Karst above DEM 5G and to evaluate the possibilities of remote mapping of these karst forms. The mapping was based on training data from the Moravian Karst, but the morphometry was found to be different from the dolines in the Czech Karst. A total of 74 dolines were found, of which 58 were mapped on DEM 5G and 16 were added from the literature. Average values of morphometric characteristics were found for length 30.34 m, width 18.65 m, depth 2.57 m and circularity 0.663. Half of them show a linear arrangement and an elongated oval shape, which may indicate a continuity with the fractures. The majority of all mapped dolines form clusters on Devonian limestones in the northwestern area of the Bohemian Karst Protected Landscape Area. As a result, two map outputs with possible locations of dolines and a database with morphometric characteristics are available. Keywords: doline, Bohemian Karst Protected Area, digital elevation model, remote sensing mapping
Changes of vegetation composition in hilly country forests depending on the application of historical forms of management
Nechanská, Denisa ; Boublík, Karel (advisor) ; Frouz, Jan (referee)
The aim of my study is to determine the influence of historical management practices on the camposition of vascular species in hilly country forests on the Vysoká stráň hill in the Bohemian Karst Protected Landscape Area in the Czech Republic. My thesis is divided into two parts. The first part of my thesis describes influences of forest management on the herb diversity from different scientific studies. There is some information about the influence of herbivorous grazing, pollarding, litter raking and fire. Secondly provides a case study dealing with the influence of historical management on the vascular species composition in the forest understory. My experimental area was divided into 32 treatments, where three different ways of historical management were used - mowing of the understory vegetation, litter raking and the combination of mowing and litter raking. The fourth area was a control treatment. Change in the herb diversity depending on a time is statistically significant but changes in the herb diversity depending on different ways of historical management are statistically insignificant. We detected a distinct decline in the herb diversity during our experiment, also on the control treatments. The main gradient of vegetation points from mesophilous acidophytes to species characteristic...

Complex school excursion with usage natural places natural place Czech karst
Mikešová, Markéta ; Švecová, Milada (advisor) ; Mikešová, Kateřina (referee)
The aim of dissertation is to elaboration model of komplex school excursion for interactive students work with usage natural places of Czech karst. Next point is creating a set of learning excercises in practical application knowledges from natural branches and for confirm keys competenses of students middle schools. An educational potential of a choosen area was evaulated on the bases of aims mentioned earlier, a model of complex school excursion using conservation area Czech karst was developed and tested The excursion takes place in the village Svatý Jan pod Skalouand it uses set of worksheets. - version for season autumn and spring. An evaluation folloving the excursion is done as a form of a student conference. Particular educational aims were applied during the excursion. Evaluation of the worksheets follows and designs of changes of teaching tasks in the worksheets are proposed. Results of dissertation are processed concept of complex school excursion with methodical material and with set of worhsheets version for season spring, autumn, and winter. Based on the evaulation of the komplex school excursion in conservation area Czech karst, results of worksheets and results from the conference, it is possible to deduce, that the addition of excursion as a teaching form is benefitial to students....
Quality analysis of interpretative trails panels in Protected Landscape Area Český Kras
Kvačková, Barbora ; Kouba, Vojtěch (advisor) ; Lindner, Milan (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to implement a qualitative analysis on interpretive trails, which are also considered part of local heritage interpretation. This analysis verifies if the authors of panels used recommendations published in two known methodologies during their preparation phase. This research is applied on eighteen interpretive trails in the protected landscape area of Český kras. In the practical part of this thesis, each interpretive trail has been evaluated by applying nine criteria. The outcome of the thesis is an evaluation of visuals and content composed on the interpretive trail panels for the purpose of attractive communication. The most significant deficiencies of the panels of interpretive trails in the protected landscape area of Český kras are quality of graphical design, whether the text communicates with the reader and if the text does not require linear reading. On the other hand, the most important strengths of interpretive trail panels are that the visual elements are always well connected to the content of the text on the panel and the text is easily read without specialised terms. The interpretive trail that has reached the best evaluation in the qualitative analysis is Vodácká NS Berounka. On the other hand, the trails with the lowest scores were NS Památné stromy Karlštejnska and NS Klonk-Suchomasty.
