Analysis of the sino-soviet border conflicts in 1969

This bachalor thesis is focused on the Sino-Soviet border conflict of 1969, which represents the most sharpened period in the relationship between the People's Republic of China and the Soviet Union. The purpose of the thesis is to demonstrate possible origns and consequences of this conflict as well as to show main characteristics of the border question using the analysis of development of the crisis. First chapters mainly deal with development of the Sino-Soviet split and history of common border. This work emphasizes in the first place level of foreign relations but it is also important to mention progress of conflict including the three most important border clashes. The thesis confronts with myths, legends and half-truths. The topic is elaborated on documents publicated electronicly on the internet and on unpublicated documents from Czech archives. The main aim of this diploma work is to present the main topics of the soviet geopolitical thinking. The main thesis are presented at the beggining of the work and were influenced mainly by personality of Joseph Stalin. At the end of the first chapter those main goals of the soviet geopolitics are evaluated as well as the role of Stalin for the USSR. The timeline of this diploma work streches from 1953 - 1982 and the main events of this period are mentioned. At the end the role of the three soviet leaders is summarized and their actions evaluated.

Bachelor's thesis The US-Soviet Relations in the "Television newscast" of Czechoslovak Television on the Example of El Salvador in 1981 analyses the US-Soviet relations in the main news program of Czechoslovak Television (CST) in 1981, on the example of El Salvador's civil war. The thesis describes the early-80's atmosphere and relations between the two "superpowers" during the Cold War. The theoretical part of the thesis describes the legislative measures which were dependent on the totalitarian regime in the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic (CSSR); it introduces the basic terminology of a news service and raises the question of media manipulation. Then the thesis describes secondary the US-Soviet relations from the late 70's until the beginning of the first term of Ronald Reagan as a president, and the change in policy towards to the Soviet Union (SSSR) after the governing of Jimmy Carter in the Office of President.
