The effect of controlled dry weight training on trunk and upper limb strength in former swimmers and hobby athletes.
Srch, Jiří ; Jurák, Daniel (advisor) ; Zenáhlík, Aleš (referee)
Title: The effect of controlled weight training on trunk and upper limb strength in former swimmers and hobby athletes Objectives: The aim of our study was to determine whether the effect of several weeks of controlled intervention would improve upper limb and trunk muscle strength in a selected population group. Methods: We used a Biokinetic swim trainer and a Cybex device to measure upper limb and trunk strength. To determine body composition, the TANITA MC-980 was used. Data were processed in MS Excel and SPSS, using Wilcoxon nonparametric paired test and Cohen's d coefficient. Results: Both research groups showed improvements in upper limb and trunk muscle strength. However, none of the measured changes were statistically significant. Thus, the results can only be evaluated within our research sample. The probands with no previous competitive swimming career showed greater improvements in upper limb and trunk muscle strength than the proband group with a previous competitive swimming career. Keywords: muscle strength, Biokinetic, Cybex, Covid-19
Evaluation of selected motor tests and anthropometric indicators in young swimmers
Oplištilová, Tereza ; Jurák, Daniel (advisor) ; Pokorná, Jitka (referee)
Title: Evaluation of selected motor tests and anthropometric indicators in young swimmers Objectives: The purpose of the diploma thesis is to evaluate selected motor tests and determine the level of selected anthropometric, explosive and strength endurance indicators in young swimmers aged 8 to 15 years, for which we compare whether and to what extent they influence each other. Methods: Data collection was performed by direct measurements in laboratories where somatic and conditioning parameters were measured. The data obtained by testing were processed using descriptive statistics in Microsoft Office Excel 2016. Summary tables and scatter plots were chosen for a clear representation of the data. Results: A total of 17 children aged 8 to 15 years of both sexes were included in the testing, which were divided by grade into group A (2008-2010) and group B (2011-2012). Based on the results, it was found that the arm span is closely related to the body height of the proband. The mean body height (group A-160.5 cm) and (group B-150.8 cm) were almost identical to the average arm span of these groups (group A-159.9 cm) and (group B-150.3 cm). In all probands, the laterality of the right arm was confirmed, and based on this finding, we found a link between laterality, stroke performance and force of...
Changes in fitness levels and fitness parameters for water polo players during ATC 2012/2013
Krejčová, Eva ; Suchý, Jiří (advisor) ; Chrzanowská, Babeta (referee)
Title: Changes in fitness levels and fitness parameters for water polo players during ATC 2012/2013 Objectives: The aim of the work determine the current performance through changes in competition and the transition period for players (n = 12, mean age 22.22 years + - 5, 6 years) water polo. Methods: To obtain a personal history of the probands was chosen method of qualitative structured interview with closed questions. From the basic anthropometrics values measured body height, weight and circuit parameters. Non-standard specific test for swimming biokinetic was at water polo players performed twice. The first test in the racing season (24th 3. 2013, 26th 3. 2013, 2nd 4. 2013), the second under the same conditions (10th 9. 2013), in a transitional period of annual training cycle (ATC) 2012/ 2013. The content of the selected non-standard specific test was compared test1 and test 2, which ran without the possibility of resting players were only interrupted by 40 seconds when tested probands carried leaps with throw up arms slightly bent at the elbows. This test was measured actual performance changes in ATC 2012/2013. Furthermore, fatigue was observed between test 1 and test 2 in the race and the transition period. During the trial, the parties all observed repeatedly drawn lactate. Results: All...
