Possibilities of Present Automobile Fuels Substitution
Doležal, Lukáš ; Svída, David (referee) ; Dundálek, Radim (advisor)
The presented bachelor thesis deals with contemporary fuels and their substitutes . The first part summarises properties and future of crude oil and today commonly and mostly used fuels that are made from oil. These are mainly petrol and diesel oil. The second part is focused on alternative fuels such as LPG, natural gas, bio-fuel and hydrogen. Each subchapter summarises the most important characteristics, advantages and disadvantages. The third part deals with electric energy used as a substitute . This chapter is divided into three subchapters, namely electromobiles, fuel cells and hybrid vehicles. The individual subchapters again summarise the most important information, above all advantages and disadvantages. In the conclusion, emulsive oil is also mentioned.
Alternative fuels for SI engines
Balažovič, Lukáš ; Ušiak, Michal (referee) ; Štětina, Josef (advisor)
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of alternative fuels for petrol engines. The first is a brief introduction to the issue of petrol engines, followed by a description of each alternative fuel. The thesis summarizes the most important information and comparison of alternatives with conventional gasoline is made. Each fuel is evaluated in terms of advantages, disadvantages, and position on the market.
Determination of ethanol in petrol using impedance detector
Kadlecová, Tereza ; Opekar, František (advisor) ; Štulík, Karel (referee)
This work deals with the determination of ethanol in petrol using contactless impedance detector. Planar and tubular detection cells of various geometric parameters are tested. The cells are connected as a frequency determining capacitor in an integrated multivibrator circuit. Analyzed gasoline, whose dielectric constant depends on the ethanol content, forms the dieletric of the capacity cells. Therefore, for various contents of ethanol, the capacity of the detection cells varies and the multivibrator generates different frequency. Based on the calibration, the content of ethanol can be determined from the frequency measured. The results obtained are compared with those obtained by gas chromatography with mass spectrometric detection.

An aftertreatment system for the passenger vehicles with a gasoline engine
Hána, Michal ; Fridrichová, Kateřina (referee) ; Böhm, Michael (advisor)
This thesis concentrates on the issue of reducing emissions from passenger vehicles with a gasoline engine. The introduction describes the individual emission components, their origin and impact on the environment and human organism. The main part of the thesis concentrates on possibilities of reducing emissions. The function and design solution for each component of the emission system is described. Furthermore, the specific solutions for several selected representatives from diverse vehicles categories are stated. These solutions are evaluated and custom configuration is designed given the selected parameters. In the conclusion are summarised the results of the thesis.
Hodnocení paliv pro spalovací motory ve vztahu k životnímu prostředí
Vančatová, Šárka
The name of this diploma thesis is „Evaluation of combustion engine fuel and its influence on the environment”. At the beginning there is a brief history of fuels. After that there is a chapter which divides fuels according to their state thus they are separate to three main types (solid state, gaseous state and liquid state). There are described main characteristics in the next part of this thesis which are heat of combustion, bulk density, dosage, volatility, resistance to detonation burning and mainly octane and cetane number. There are described currently used fuels for combustion engines right after the characteristic of fuels. These fuels are divided to fuels made of petroleum (gasoline, diesel, and LPG), fuels made of natural gas (CNG, and LNG), biofuels (bioethanol, biomethanol, vegetable oils – FAME and synthetic diesel fuel) and there is also an independent group of hydrogen. Thereafter are described European emission standards. The practical part of the thesis is focused on an analysis of previously mentioned fuels and there is a biggest focus on production of carbon dioxide. Other emissions are evaluated as well such as carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and NOx gases. The analysis is done on classical fuels like gasoline and diesel and also on alternative fuels such as CNG, LPG, E85, FAME and hydrogen. In the end there are tables and graphs which contains production of flue gases.
Emise spalovacích motorů ve vztahu k životnímu prostředí
Cahová, Kateřina
This bachelor thesis concerned with emissions issue that arises during the burning of fuels in combustion engines, considering the environment. In introduction there are generally described burning fuels, then chapter about different types of fuels follows. The most important part of this thesis concerned with emissions having impact on the environment and possibilities of reducing their negative impacts on environment, atmosphere and human life. Also, it deals with analysis of individual data relating to emissions in the Czech Republic.
Vliv spalování paliva CNG na produkci výfukových emisí motoru osobního automobilu
Kosík, Tomáš
The diploma thesis focuses on the influence of combustion of CNG fuel and the production of exhaust emissions at a passenger car engine. At the beginning of the thesis are presented the possibilities of using fuel in vehicles. Then there will be described the CNG fuel itself, its advantages and disadvantages and there will be comparison with petroleum-based fuels. Next will be described necessary modifications of the engines and modifications of the related systems to make combusting of CNG possible, also summarize the theoretical knowledge of the possible effects on the output ecological parameters of the engines. These theoretical knowledges were verified by measuring the actual emission parameters of the engine of a real vehicles Skoda Octavia III Diesel and G-TEC. At the end of this thesis are measured values evaluated. Evaluation confirmed, that vehicles, which uses as fuel CNG, reaches lower emission than vehicles that are using convention oil-based fuels.
Vliv biosložky na fyzikální vlastnosti automobilového benzinu
Beer, Erik
The theoretical part of the diploma thesis with the topic "Effect of bio-component on the automotive gasoline properties" contains a summary of basic fuels for spark ignition engines, their basic properties, and the legislative requirements. This part also deals with the theory of measurement of density, viscosity and shear stress. In the experimental part of thesis are described the measurement of the physical and mechanical properties of petrol, buthanol and their blend sand determination of their temperature dependences. The results are presented in the tables and are shown in the charts. Obtained results are discussed with the thematic scientific contributions.
Determination of emissions and harmful particles of exhaust gases of CNG, petrol and diesel vehicles
Rozsíval, Adam ; Libich, Jiří (referee) ; Bača, Petr (advisor)
The thesis deals with an analyses of emission and harmful particles of exhaust fumes of automobiles with an environmental impact. More precisely, it describes the basic characteristics of current fuel types and emission produced by internal combustion engines. Next, it deals with the measures and possibilities of decreasing car traffic emission with respect to environmental impact. It also describes the current European standards for emission and the systems of the cars that are able to decrease emission. The work also deals with the measuring of emission and the methods that are used. According to the measuring methods, the analysis of exhalation is done and it is based on the data of the real car fleet. Values of the emission analyses are compared. The financial aspect is a part of the analyses.
