What Are Children Talking About In Art Lessons?

The bachelor's thesis deals with the communication of preschool children in kindergarten during art activities, their sharing of feelings, enthusiasm for creation. The aim of the work is to describe the communication of children during selected art activities and how the interest in their communication is manifested. The work is divided into theoretical and practical part. The theoretical part deals with the topics of communication, children's interactions, the characteristics of art activities, all with regard to preschool children. The practical part is devoted to 7 selected art activities, which are then realized with children. The author of bachelor thesis tries to engage as a silent observer, but also as a participant. Using a video camera, all art activities had been recorded, transcribed and then analyzed through open coding. The research questions had been discussed: What do children say during art activities? Specific research questions had been established: What do children talk about spontaneously during art activities? What non-verbal expressions do they accompany their communication? How does mutual communication differ on the basis of different art activities? How does the communication between girls and boys differ? How do children express the joy that art activities have brought...
