Economics of the environment is a topical issue of contemporary economics. This includes optimization of financing landscape protection and return to its equilibrium state after extraction. The work "Design methodology for the creation of statutory reserves for remediation and reclamation of areas affected by surface mining" maps current practices in the creation of financial reserves for remediation and reclamation. It focuses on surface mining both small and large bearings. Analysis of procedure is performed by comparing the pros and cons. The method should be optimal in terms of both organizations and interests of the state. Possible situations are described by illustrative graphs, which is likewise sufficient depth discuss the issue. The thesis is mainly based on laws and regulations. In conclusion I come to the fact that there are no universal optimal methods of reserves generally applicable to all types of bearings, it has to always be taken into account the specific conditions needed to carry out analysis.
