Facelift PDU
Sobotková, Monika ; Dvořák, Tomáš (referee) ; Nový, Alois (advisor)
The master thesis deals with the facelift of the forecourt of the Dukovany Nuclear Power Station . This space consists of supporting functions for the main working such as administrative, metrology, stocks, cloakrooms and services. There is also the station for the buses, which carry employees to and from work, the regular bus station and parking lots. The forecourt of the power station is now inconvenient from a functional point of view, because the capacity of the existing buildings and parking lots is insufficient; and also from aesthetic point of view, because the buildings from 70’s don’t look good anymore, the parking consists of the large asphalt areas and there is no representative anteroom in front of the main entry, which should be there in view of the significance of the power station. In the study I deal with these problems by the complex reconstruction of the area, I replace the huge asphalt parking lots with the parking houses, create the administrative zone with the public place in front of the main entry to the plant, extend the capacities for the particular functions and add the new required functions (kindergaten, other services). The result of this conversion is the area with the particular functional zones with the representative forecourt in front of the main entry and with the enough space for each of the functions. This work follows up the last semester urbanist-architectonic study. The diploma thesis focus on the improvements of the weaker parts of the prime study and on the elaboration of the architectural study of the adminstrative zone with services.
Social Worker in Children's Home
MAURICOVÁ, Kristýna
This thesis focuses on the activities of a social worker in a children´s home. Its objective is to provide insight into the work of a social worker in a children´s home, describe the challenges and experiences encountered in the practice of social work. A social worker is an essential part of every children´s home. His responsibilities mainly involve the administrative aspects of admitting, accommodating, and departure of a child. In the practical part of the thesis a qualitative research strategy was utilized to fulfill the set objective, using specific methods such as questioning and semi-structured interview technique. Through semi-structured interview, answers to a total of 12 questions were gathered, which helped to clarify the objectives and research questions of the thesis. The research sample consisted of social workers from children´s homes. The gathered data was analyzed using open coding and subsequently grouped into categories. The results shown that the work of a social worker in a children´s home is primarily administrative in nature, and they only come into contact with the children in specific situations. The experiences of social workers vary in some cases, but they generally agree on the difficulties they face. One of the difficulties lies in facilitating contact between parents and child. For social workers in children´s homes, it is demanding to locate and contact parents. The problem is frequent changes in residence addresses or phone numbers. Another issue with parents is situation when they make numerous promises to their children but fail to fulfill them in the end. They lack essential information about the birth of the child, childhood, sometimes even about their health condition and relatives. The departure of a child from the home is also demanding for the workers. The workers have information about some children or the children themselves come to visit the children´s home, Unfortunately, regarding some of the children, the workers have no information, which troubles them.
Multifunctional building Malá Amerika
Jašková, Tereza ; Muroň, Ivo (referee) ; Ležatka, Lukáš (advisor)
This bachelor work follows up on an architectural atelier project made in the winter semester of the third year of the bachelor program. The goal of this project is a plan of a new multifunctional building in the city part of Brno-Střed. The site is located on the corner of Nové Sady, Nádražní and Hybešova. There are Malá Amerika and Titanium buildings nearby. The new building respects the urban concept, and the new structures match the height of the already present buildings. The multifunctional building consists of three aboveground parts each of which has its own public services. The corner building serves as a shopping mall with administrative offices. The building next to the Titanium is used for its showrooms and administrative part and the last and lowest building houses a café with a multifunctional space and a library. The whole site is conjoined by its underground parking lot which is accessible through entrances on the north-west and north-east sides. The shape of the building copies the intersection and creates an imaginary rampart, which also creates a square between the structures of Malá Amerika and the multifunctional building. The stalls of these structures are made from concrete arches reminiscent of a historical viaduct, which used to be situated here. The upper floors are covered with cladding made from bricks. The building worked on has an atrium which provides more daylight to otherwise very deep floor layouts. The main goal was to create a pleasant and habitable space in this part of the city.

Chytilová, Markéta ; Maar, Radek (referee) ; Boleslavská, Yvona (advisor) ; Bečkovský, David (advisor)
To commence, the main theme of this paper was to design a newly built manufacture of the Aquarium Pavlica Company. This business is specialized in the production of aquariums, which are designed for the interiors of homes and general public buildings. The main foundation for the project is an architectural study paper which was done in modules AG035 - Architectonics Studio and AG036 - The Complex Project. The design of the object is situated in a slightly slopping land in Brno, Horní Heršpice, Sokolova Street. Currently, the land is registered as a brownfield by Brno City Municipality. There is one small building on the land, which is planned to be demolished. The entrance to the site is located to the North Side - from the main road. In addition to this, the entrance is barrier free and easy to access. The front side of the designed object is parallel with the road on Sokolova Street. The main requirement was to create a convenient setting for the manufacture along with the social administrative facilities. As well as that, the requirement was to create space for a permanent exposition. The designed manufacturing object is divided into numerous separate parts. The building consists of an entryway, permanent exhibition, convenient facilities for visitors as well as facilities for the employees, which are all located on the first floor. The administrative section of the building is located on the second floor, along with the offices and a terrace. The two floors are connected by a stairway and an elevator that is barrier free. The manufacturing part of the building consists of two separate units. Firstly, it is the hall for the manufacture of the aquariums, which is equipped with a crane rail. Secondly, it is the carpentry. The flat green roofs will cover the whole building. In addition, the two floor part of the building is designed with a white fasade, and the manufacturing part of the building is designed with facade in a tone of gray. Additionally, large

Reconstruction of the Town Hall in Bojkovice
Zharova, Kseniia ; Mikeš, Stanislav (referee) ; Guzdek, Adam (advisor) ; Struhala, Karel (advisor)
The aim of the bachelor thesis was the reconstruction and reconstruction of the Bojkovice Municipal Office. The municipal office building is located in the historical center of Bojkovice, at the crossroads of Sušilova and Komenského streets. From the south side, the areal adjacent to the train platform. The building itself is not a cultural monument, but in this work we consider that it is protected and is considered in terms of cultural values. The building consists of several parts of different ages, these parts are interconnected. Original oldest building - former municipal inn Leopold Bůchler, built in 1928. During the 20th century the first extension was built - from the eastern part of the building. In the 1980s, the second extension was built - the latest courtyard wing. The whole building with all the extensions creates a feeling of complexity, cramped space. Different height levels cause difficult interconnection between parts of the building. Construction of newer courtyard extensions flow, spaces in this part are currently not used. During the construction of the second extension, the truss structures were connected - the oldest building lost its historical value. The aim of my design was to give preference to the original object - to purify the structures suppressing the historical appearance, to add light and air. The solution was the removal of newer extensions. The historic building will be completely restored to its original form according to historical photographs: a truss, a Czech-style roofing, wooden lining windows, cornices and window frames. The newly designed buildings will be two-storeyed, the historic building will remain higher so it will be more massive. Historical and new parts will be differentiated in character and color - new buildings will be more modern in appearance, discreetly white using wooden elements on the facade, the original building - will be as close as possible to its historical appearance, will be in darker shades

The building is divided into three units -production, administration and social facilities, but the building looks like a whole. For the facade, the black color sheet ks1000 is used. Throughout the construction there are colored lines, in the production part are windows, in the administrative part only plastic glass on the facade. The building has a dynamic shape with sloping lines on the facades. In the administrative part there is a large roof skylight. The light coming into the main production penetrates through the saw blades facing north. Scattered light is not aggressive and does not interfere in any time of day.
