The new ecclesial laws in 1949

The topic of the thesis are so-called "new ecclesiastical laws" accepted in 1949, that had served as one of the power tools for the oppression of the Churches and the control over the society. Within the chapters in sequence I deal with the description and genesis of these new ecclesiastical laws, received by Czechoslovak communist regime in 1949 and their importance not only for the confessional law of the following period until now. In this context I ask the question what are the extent effects not only for the life of the Churches, esp. the Catholic Church, but also for the mentality of the contemporary Czech society in relationship with the Church. This thesis is concerned with three spheres that are necessarily interconnected: First, the legislation of these laws themselves, second, the social reception of the Church interlinked with these laws, and third sphere is also the projection of these laws into the political rhetoric nowadays. The goal of the thesis is to reveal the deep interconnection and dynamics of the three spheres given, and explore how the way they were manifested in the past, and have consequently been manifested until these days. University of Social and Political Sciences 1945-1953 with Focus on Social Work

The University of Political and Social Sciences was established by the Decree of the President in 1945 as a four-year state university in Czechoslovakia. Together with the faculties of Journalism and Politics, the Faculty of Social Studies was established. My work focuses on the curriculum of the school from 1945 to 1953 and describes teaching social workers in the context of historical changes when closing this school meant a significant reduction of social work until, at least, 1968. Benefit of my work is in processing of previously unpublished information especially in the field of university studies. The transformation of the Czechoslovakian-Israeli foreign relations after the period of the 1948 events in the Czechoslovakian journals of that time

The Bachelor's thesis "Transformation of Czechoslovakian-Israeli Foreign Relations After 1948 in the Czechoslovakian Press" reflects the causes of the transformation of foreign relations between Czechoslovakia and Israel after the events of 1948. Using the research methods of historical comparative analysis, historical fact and the 'reality' presented by the media are compared in an attempt to uncover the effect of the latter. The analysis is based on data from three political dailies and one weekly paper. The thesis focuses on the period between July 1948, a time when Czechoslovakian-Israeli foreign relations were warm, and December 1949, when Czechoslovakian foreign policy began to lean in favor of Arabic countries.
