Chess in schools: theoretical and practical training for teachers

The bachelor's thesis deals with the topic of teaching chess in schools. The basic concept of chess as a game is explained, the connections between chess game and school teaching are outlined, and examples of good chess practice as a teaching method abroad are given. Then the theoretical part of the thesis deals with the project Chess to schools and its functioning in Czech schools, the available materials for teachers are analyzed. The empirical part of the thesis deals with the question of who the teachers of the Chess to Schools project are, and what methods they use for teaching. A questionnaire survey was used to examine the question, this quantitative research is evaluated at the end of the work. Keywords: chess, Chess for schools, didactics, game, teacher training
