Comparison of fitting approaches for cochlear implants
Fabíková, Veronika ; Čmiel, Vratislav (referee) ; Odstrčilík, Jan (advisor)
This bachelor’s thesis deals with topic of cochlear implantations (CI), especially with fitting of audio processors. Two hearing thresholds are usually determined during fitting of audio processors – Hearing Threshold (HT) and Maximum Comfortable Level threshold (MCL). In this work, a common subjective approach together with three objective methods for CI fitting is described. Individual approaches are then compared to each other. The second half of the thesis is devoted to description of methodology for XML files processing in MATLAB programming software, treatment of available data by a created program and statistical evaluation of acquired results. In the last chapter, there is a recommendation for audiologists stated, based on the results of the work.
Simulation of cochlear implant sound processing
Fabíková, Veronika ; Čmiel, Vratislav (referee) ; Odstrčilík, Jan (advisor)
This diploma thesis deals with topic of cochlear implants (CI), especially with elaborating of sound signal with audio processors. In this work, principles and possibilities of rehabilitation of hearing with cochlear implants are described. In the thesis, there are principles of audio processors and modern coding strategies explained. The processes of simulation of selected strategies are stated. In the last chapter, there are the results of the simulations tested and discussed.
Signal processing used in hearing devices
Kelča, Jan ; Harabiš, Vratislav (referee) ; Kolářová, Jana (advisor)
In this work is in details described anatomy and physiology of auditory tract, all its pathological changes included. The main part of this work concetrates on the issue of hearing disorders compensation when special emphasis comes to cochlear implants. This work characterizes every single functional part of cochlear implants from microphones to electrode array. The thesis works in details with speech processors of cochlear implants and with possibilities that provides codes strategies. In a practical part of this thesis is designed the scetch of block scheme of the cochlear implant using CIS and ACE strategy. As an outcome has been made the programme for processing acoustic signal that is based on mentioned block scheme.
Technical aspects of cochlear implants in people with severe hearing impairment
Vacková, Dagmar ; Ptáčková, Klára (advisor) ; Hádková, Kateřina (referee)
The objective of this work is to specify the technical aspects of cochlear implants in relationship to their impact on their users. The main contribution of this work is that through the description of individual parts of an implant and of the substance of its operation it draws attention to the impact of its usage on the user themselves. Simultaneously, by describing the current news in the area of cochlear implants it draws attention to the continuous development of this neuroprotheses and its elements. The bachelor's thesis is aimed at the division of individual parts of the cochlear implant and their technical specifications. In the thesis the core of the sound transmission and the operation of the implant and its adjusting are described. The attention is paid to the selection of the users of cochlear implants and approach of the community of the deaf people to this compensation aid. Limitations in the cochlear implant users form another part of this work. The individual theoretical pieces of information are interspersed with testimonies of the users themselves who express their attitudes and experience in individual areas of everyday life. At the end of the thesis news from the area of cochlear implants are stated. It deals, in particular, with the newest speech processors and their...
