"The experience of alcohol-addicted clients after institutional treatment"

Bases: In institutional care, the clients are taken out of their natural ambient. In safe institutional ambience, the abstinence is easier. During the institutional treatment, the client should get new overview of his addiction, enforce his decision for a change and reevaluate his lifestyle. The clients often return back to their unsatisfying living conditions. The addiction influences all domains of human existence, therefore it is important that clients get the care in accordance with their needs during and after the institutional treatment. Aims: The main aim of this thesis is to find how the alcohol addicted clients, the clients repetitively hospitalized for the relapses, lived through the retrieve into the normal life after the institutional treatment. The other aim is to find usual problems that arise after the treatment and reasons for the relapse. Moreover, the question is what the experience with the aftercare care is and what is the main support on their way to recovery. I have focused on the period between the first and the last treatment. The principal research questions: Which factors influenced the relapse of the clients? Other research questions: What are the experiences with the aftercare programs? Which factors do the clients feel as supporting on their way to recovery?...

Possibilities and limits of alternative treatment and recovery from addiction by the psychedelic experience

Backgroud: Current research suggests that psychedelics might have a significant therapeutic potential for the treatment of addictions, as well as the treatment of depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder and other mental illnesses. The current renaissance of psychedelic research, as well as changes in the approach towards these substances we see in some countries, suggest that it is only a matter of time until psychedelics are officially used as a therapeutic tool in treatment. The progressive field of addictology in the Czech Republic could be one of the pioneers of psychedelic research in the treatment of addictions. Aim: The theoretical part of this work provides insights into the current events in the field of psychedelic research in the Czech Republic and in the world. The research part maps the perspectives and attitudes of Czech experts and representatives of leading institutions (areas of addictology, research on psychedelics and mental health and state administration) on the use of psychedelics in the treatment of addictions. The aim of this work was to find out how these experts approach this issue and what possibilities and limits of implementation of research on psychedelics in the treatment of addictions they perceive. Qualitative analysis of the experience and evaluation of the recovery process of users of addictive substances with schizophrenic disorders

This work deals with the issue of dual diagnosis, namely patients with schizophrenic disease who are addicted to drugs and their view of the anxiety process. Theoretical background research is devoted to schizophrenic disease, addictive disorders and specifics in the treatment of patients with dual diagnosis. The aim of this research was to find out how users of addictive substances with a schizophrenic circuit disorder evaluate and experience the process of their anxiety. To create the above goal, I set the main research question, concretized by three sub- questions: (1) How do drug users with schizophrenic disorders assess and experience the process of their anxiety? (1.1.) "How do drug users with schizophrenic disorders have insight into their difficulties in treatment?" (1.2.) "How the level of these difficulties changed before the end of treatment"? (1.3.) "What aspects of recovery do these patients consider important?" The research set was selected by methods of improbable purpose.
