BRIDGE ON D1 (LIETAVSKÁ LÚČKA - VIŠŇOVÉ) OVER VALLEY AT km 4.313
Hudyma, Nazar ; Dvořák, Tomáš (referee) ; Zich, Miloš (advisor)
The subject of this Master's thesis is the design of a road bridge on the D1 in the section Lietavská Lúčka - Višňové in the Žilina Region, Žilina District, Slovak Republic. The bridge is used to cross the valley in KM 4,313 and the road in KM 4,410. Three variants of bridging were proposed, but further in the work an assessment is made on one of the variants. The total length of the superstructure is 354.00 m, the theoretical total span of the structure is 352.00 m. The bridge has 4 spans and is constructed by free cantilever method .The locations of the supports were limited by unsuitable geological conditions at the construction site (active shear area in Quaternary sediments), especially in span No. 3 (span lenght 104.00 m) and span No. 4 (span lenght 75.00 m). The monolithic part of the bridge structure will be concreted by free cantilever method with the largest length of the cantilever 52.00 m. The outermost parts of fields No. 1 and No. 4 will be cast-in-place using fixed scaffolding.
Concrete retaining wall
Gric, Pavel ; Zich, Miloš (referee) ; Strnad, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis is about design and assessment of angular retaining wall from reinforced concrete. There are analyzed effects of loads from each design approach listed in standard ČSN EN 1997. The retaining wall is designed according to the standard ČSN EN 1992.
Analysis of reinforced concrete bridge
Řeháček, Jakub ; Panáček, Josef (referee) ; Zich, Miloš (advisor)
Bachelor´s thesis is concerned with state estimation of reinforced bridge. The bridge is used to transfer local road across the Svratka river. The bridge is designed as arched bridge with tie and down deck. Lenght of bridging is 24,8 m. Loads and state estimation are done according to Eurocode.
Design and analysis of precast dapped-end beams
Hasa, Michal ; Navrátil,, Jaroslav (referee) ; Vítek,, Jan (referee) ; Zich, Miloš (advisor)
The doctoral thesis deals with the analysis of the dapped-end beam detail, in terms of theoretical modelling and practical design using the strut-and-tie method as well as experimental verification of the bearing capacity and the behaviour of the detail under load by means of load tests and subsequent numerical nonlinear analysis. A summary of known structural and static designs explored in the literature has been presented. In addition, the strut-and-tie method has been introduced as an appropriate tool for a consistent design of the detail, element or the whole structure. The theoretical basis for the method has been described, including the general methodology for design and analysis. Practical problems have been discussed, specifically those resulting from the known design of the analysed detail based on the German approach; its modification has been processed theoretically taking into account the practical mode of reinforcement. An experiment has been suggested with a view to verify the presented calculation procedure and the influence of the used ratio of vertical to inclined hanger reinforcement on the bearing capacity and behaviour of the detail under load. The experiment also included accompanying material tests of the concrete which were used along with the inspection certificates issued for the used reinforcement as a basis for the nonlinear finite element analysis. Based on the results, the presented design procedure can be considered safe. These results also imply that the chosen ratio of vertical and inclined hanger reinforcements has no influence on the ultimate bearing capacity within practical reinforcement, as it only influences the formation, development and final width of cracks. With the growing ratio of the inclined hanger reinforcement, the width and density of cracks decreases at all stages of loading. Owing to their limitations, primarily during the service state, it is recommended that the minimal inclined reinforcement should be used.
One span tee beam bridge
Lachová, Alžběta ; Zich, Miloš (referee) ; Koláček, Jan (advisor)
The goal of this bachelor Thesis is to design a single span road bridge. The bridge will transfer a road of a S7,5 category over local river. Three possible variations were designed, from which option A will be used for further design and calculations. This bridge is a monolithic single-girder post-prestressed construction with a span of 24 m. The structure has been calculated for the ultimate limit state and the service limit state. The calculations of the load effects were done manually as well as in software Scia Engineer 19.1.
Design of bridge on the motorway D48
Holuša, Adam ; Nováček, Jan (referee) ; Zich, Miloš (advisor)
Diploma thesis deals with design of a new bridge on motorway D48 located on bypass of Frýdek – Místek. Total spread of the bridge is 113 meters. Thesis includes 3 studies. For next assesment was chosen concrete girder box construction with 3 spans. Bridge is bulit on falsework. Structural analysis includes influences of construction by TDA method. Load effect is solved in Scia Engineer 18.0. The assessment of the bridge was made according to EC.
Reconstruction and strengthening of reinforced concrete ceiling construction
Klimeš, Petr ; Zich, Miloš (referee) ; Perla, Jan (advisor)
The final thesis deals with strengthening of cast-in-place concrete ceiling in existing construction for couple of escalators. New prestressed beam, columns in new positions and strengthened girder with unbonded strands are building in this adjustments. Every member, including the existing construction, is verified for ultimate and serviceability limit state. Prestressed members are alternatively designed with bonded strands and these variants are comparison in terms of utilization and calculation.
Design of floating concrete structure
Páleník, Branislav ; Kolenčík, Pavel (referee) ; Zich, Miloš (advisor)
The project aimed to familiarize yourself with the issue of floating structures, according to the procurement documents and knowledge acquired during studie, a study of existing floating structures. Review was conducted design adapted from documents. More space was devoted bottom structure in the assessment. Other structures designed only provisionally.
Analysis of behaviour of reinforced concrete slab
Kubínek, Michal ; Bažant, Zdeněk (referee) ; Zich, Miloš (advisor)
Bachelor thesis describes the analysis of behavior of existing reinforced concrete slab, locally supprorted, ceiling in hospital including 2nd limit state. Calculation od internal forces was made by computer program SCIA Engineer. Several models were made, model with best behavior due to real construction was used for dimensioning. Each model was compared with manual calculation by equivalent frame analysis. After finding inconvenient deflection, especially due to connected construction, new design was made. Thickness of slab was increased and new design of reinforcement was made. New construction was verified for both limit states.
Static analysis of reinforced concrete floor structure of historical building
Nani, Pavel ; Bažant, Zdeněk (referee) ; Zich, Miloš (advisor)
The chief objective of my bachelor’s thesis is a design of the reinforced concrete floor structure of a historical building over 1st floor. The historical building was built in 1874. There are three floors in this building and there isn’t any underground floor. The reinforced concrete floor structure consists of the following forms of structure – a ribbed ceiling, a floor slab, a beam, a shell of vault and a staircase. The ribbed ceiling is made from a lost formwork of the VELOX firm. The set reinforced concrete floor structures are according to ČSN EN 1992-1-1.
