Influence of lubricants on viscoelastic parameters of compaction process
Svačinová, Petra ; Rabišková, Miloslava (advisor) ; Kubová, Kateřina (referee) ; Zámostný, Petr (referee)
Charles University in Prague, Faculty of Pharmacy in Hradec Králové Department Pharmaceutical technology Candidate Mgr. Petra Svačinová Supervisor Prof. PharmDr. Miloslava Rabišková, CSc. Title of Doctoral Thesis Influence of lubricants on viscoelastic parameters of compaction process This thesis deals with an evaluation of lubricant's influence on viscoelastic parameters of compaction process. The force-displacement record and stress relaxation test were used for this evaluation. This study evaluates the viscoelastic parameters on three fillers intended for direct compression, i.e. microcrystalline cellulose Avicel PH-200, lactose Lactochem Fine Crystals and calcium hydrogen phosphate dihydrate Emcompress. Magnesium stearate and modified colloidal silica Syloid were used as lubricants at concentrations of 0.5 % and 1 %. Particle size and shape and specific surface area were determined for all used excipients. Flow properties were studied for individual fillers and also for their mixtures with lubricants. Subsequently, tablets were compressed from fillers and mixtures using force-displacement record and stress relaxation test, and viscoelastic parameters were evaluated. The applied compression forces for both methods were 5 kN, 10 kN and 15 kN. The hardness of tablets was measured. The results show...
Optimizing Flow and Segregaton Properties of Lactose/Microcrystalline Cellulose Mixture for Tablet Compression.
Zámostný, P. ; Kreibichová, B. ; Hofmanová, D. ; Kulaviak, Lukáš ; Zelenková, K. ; Růžička, Marek
The present study deals with optimizing the flow and segregation properties of levocetirizine hydrochloride formulation, where the delay between homogenization and tablet compression was found to affect the tablet content uniformity. In addition to API, the base formulation comprised spray dried lactose monohydrate, milled lactose monohydrate 200 mesh, Avicel PH 101 microcrystalline cellulose, and minor excipients. Several alternative mixtures were prepared using the same total composition, but different grades of lactose and microcrystalline cellulose. These mixtures were then tested for the segregation behavior in an in-house segregation device and the flow properties using the Freeman FT4 powder rheometer. The segregation tests showed the grade of lactose is essential for mixture in-flow segregation. While SD lactose mixtures increased the API content in a direction countercurrent to flow, the milled lactose mixtures segregated API concurrently. Mixtures using both lactose grades showed combined effect, resulting in the least segregation due to the two segregation processes competing with each other. However, the segregation was extremely sensitive to ageing of the mixture. It was also found that each type of lactose causes a different flow regime of the mixture in process vessels. In order to improve the content uniformity of the tablets, it was found the volumetric flow regime of transport to tablet press is required as well as the aggregate formation should be prevented.\n

Effect of Colloidal Silica Dioxide on Rheological Properties of Common Pharmaceutical Excipients.
Majerová, D. ; Tran, D.T. ; Kulaviak, Lukáš ; Růžička, Marek ; Štěpánek, F. ; Zámostný, P.
In this work, the rheological properties of silicified microcrystalline cellulose and pregelatinized starch was investigated in comparison to the characteristics of pure excipients. At first, pure materials were analysed on scanning electron microscopy (SEM) to obtain their particle size distribution and particle shape. Also the rheological properties of all three substances were examined by the Freeman FT4 rheometer. The observed properties were in accordance with known characteristics and typical behaviour of the excipients.

Use tap Dance in the Movie and on the Stage
Waidingerová, Andrea ; ZÁMOSTNÝ, Petr (advisor) ; CAPKO, Štefan (referee)
Tap dance represents quite a new and popular dance style. It entertains both dancers and spectators. We can find tap dance in various movies, world tap records, in drummer, tap and pure dance shows that reached the deepest level of today?s spectator?s hearts and purses. This thesis deals with a named movies and tap records. Another focus is on musical film that have been forgotten, contemporary silent movie, history of tap dance and theatre performance, which transfer the rhythmical message to the spectator directly from the stage. Here you can learn about the tap dance used as a musical instrument, expression of diverse emotions and feelings like joy, frustration, pension, cynicism or arrogance, as a main means of theatre dramaturgy or as an amazing show, which the tap dance definitely is.
American tap dance - My own experiences
Hlava, Nina ; Zámostný, Petr (advisor) ; Zárubová-Pfeffermannová, Noemi (referee)
The following Magister Diploma work is about the evolution and traditon of the American dance called "Tap" With the addition of the personal experiences of the author, this work is written like a report in the first person narrative. Because of the fact that this kind of dance was founded in the United States, the focal point is given to American dancers and choreographers. It also will inform the reader about the technique of American Tap Dance and the specific terminology, which is used throughout the entire document. The main goal of this diploma work is to provide a basis about "Tap". It also serves as a reference guide for students interested in the topic by providing contact addresses of several institutions in America but also in Czech Republic.
Vliv vlastností směsi a parametrů mísení na homogenizaci farmaceutických prášků
Zámostný, P. ; Bělohlav, Z. ; Durdil, P. ; Hanika, Jiří ; Jašprová, D. ; Jezerská, L. ; Tomášek, V.
In this paper we are aiming at describing the effect of the blender size on the rates of mixing and segregation, as well as the effects of essential process parameters by empirical model developed by fitting the data obtained in blending experiments carried out with two model formulations in different sizes of geometrically similar blenders. Using two completely different model formulations in this study, we are also seeking to distinguish between results specific to a particular mixture and those valid in a more general scale.
Segregace částic farmaceutických směsí pro přímou tabletaci
Břenková, L. ; Bělohlav, Z. ; Durdil, P. ; Eliášová, H. ; Hanika, Jiří ; Jašprová, D. ; Tomášek, V. ; Zámostný, P.
The paper was aimed at both the observation of major excipients effect on mixture homogeneity and stability in pilot plant conditions and the development of an experimental technique for investigation of the powder mixture segregation tendency and distinguishing between different segregation mechanisms.
