The graduation theses aims to the illustrate principles of the spatial planning in Finland. For better understanding of the spatial planning system will shortly realize socioeconomic analysis of Finland on which will be connected the characteristic of spatial planning system in Finland with its historical development and legislative framework. The aim of the graduation thesis is to point out strengths and weaknesses of the spatial planning system in Finland.
Spatial planning in Ireland

This graduation theses deals with the system of spatial planning in the Republic of Ireland. Its aim is to determine the main advantages and disadvantages of the Dublin approach to planning. The first part deals with the socio-economic characteristics of Ireland, which creates the necessary background for subsequent analysis of the Irish system of spatial planning. The analysis includes a legislative framework, an institutional system or practical aspects of the planning documents. At the end the positive and negative aspects are spoken.
The clusters, their value for companies and their influence on regional development on the example of The Plastics Cluster in Zlín region

The thesis deals with a meaning of clusters for their member companies and on the example of The Plastics Cluster in Zlín region shows how the clusters influence regional development. This document works with a definition of clusters by European Union. First part of the thesis provides the definition of the term "cluster", description of the main features, the characteristics and types of clusters and it also identifies the benefits of clusters for companies and for regions. Second part of the document is focused on the possibilities of financing clusters from the EU structural funds in the period 2004-2006 and 2007-2013. Consequently the evolution of the clusters that received grants from the EU structural funds in the period 2004-2006 is evaluated. The applied part of the thesis addresses to the example of The Plastics Cluster and its analysis, it also deals with the economic situation of Zlín region and based on the gained information draws the conclusions.
The estimation of cross-border activities euroregion Pomoraví in South Moravian region

This bachelor thesis is focused on cross-border activities of the Euroregion Pomoraví that was established in 1999 based on trilateral agreenment between the Czech Repubic, Slovakia and Austria. Main goal of the thesis is to analyze the operations of the Euroregion and to examine the meaning of activities for its development based on the analysis of success of submitted projects and their impacts. The bachelor thesis is devided into three parts. The first part of the thesis brings basic facts about the establishment and development of the cross-border cooperation. On later stage it defines the fundamental terms, legal framework and the way of financing. The second part specifies the area of the Euroregion Pomoraví and presents a socioe-conomical characteristics of the Czech part. The third part is focused on functioning of the Euroregion Pomoraví in the program period 2004--2006 as well as in the ongoing period 2007--2013.
Use of Structural Funds in municipalities with authorized municipal office focused on the South Bohemian Region

The aim of this thesis is to determine how successful the municipalities with authorized municipal office in South Bohemia region are in drawing financial resources from the EU structural funds. The first part is a theoretical insight into regional policy and a description of the structural funds. it introduces the goals of regional policy and outlines an overview of funds that may be used in the czech republic during the current programming period 2007-2013. The South bohemia region and its strategy for regional development introduction follows. The practical part of the thesis is an analysis of publicly available data, which is supplemented by an analysis of data collected by survey of municipalities with authorized municipal office and the comparison of the three selected communities in which the data on the utilization of structural funds, implemented plans, etc. were obtained through interviews. based on the results of this analysis, the success of funds utilization is evaluated in selected municipalities
Euroregion Labe and its importance on the development of target region

This bachelor thesis is concerned with definition of euroregions and is mainly focused on the Euroregion Elbe/ Labe and its effect on cross-border cooperation. Aim of this work is to evaluate the effect of the Euroregion Labe on the development of the target region. Trough analysis of completed projects and the impacts of these projects I will try this aim satisfy. Bachelor thesis consists of introduction, three sections and conclusion.The first chapter is focused on cross-border cooperation and euroregions and their historical development. The second chapter deals with the Euroregion Elbe/ Labe, its origin and involvement in the development of the region of interest. The largest is the last chapter, which describes the action of the Euroregion Elbe/ Labe in cross-border cooperation. This chapter focuses on the analysis of completed projects on the territory of Euroregion Labe.
Comparison of Czech and Slovak regional policy

This bachelor thesis is about realization of regional policy in Czech a Slovak republic. In the beginning it is focused on theoretical definition of basic terms connected with the regional policy -- definition, instruments, aims. Than there is development of regional policy and legislative framework in both countries. To that part is connected comparation of regional policy in Czech and Slovak republic in term of regional divison, reason of creation, way of programming and implemantion of operational programmmes. Graphically is also illustrated development of regional domestic product per inhabitant and unemployment. In the end of the work there are defined strong and weak sides of Czech and Slovak regional policy.
The topic of spatial planning in the Czech republic

This bachelor work is focused on exploring issues of spatial planning in Czech Republic. The introductory part focus on the characteristics of the planning model applied in Czech Republic. The integral part of work is analysis of the most important tools of spatial planning, institutional and legislative structures. The next chapter identify the most fundamental changes in legislation over the previous legislation in force as amended by Act No. 183/2006 Coll., on town country planning and building code (Building Act). Results of the descriptive and analytical methods in this bachelor work are identifications of the most serious problems which the Czech planning is currently facing or may face in the future.
The analysis of members of Euroregion Glacensis

The bachelor's thesis is focused on the possibilities of municipal cooperation in the Czech Republic with municipalities of other states, primarily on euroregions. The aim is to determine main benefits to municipalities from their membership in Euroregion Glacensis and to assess their involvement in cross-border cooperation. The theoretical part generally describes cooperation of Czech municipalities with municipalities of other states, including the possibilities of cooperation. Afterwards one particular form of cooperation (euroregions) is discussed. The Czech-Polish euroregion -- Euroregion Glacensis is a good example to show how euroregions work and what they do. The practical part is dedicated to analysis of members in Euroregion Glacensis. Their developing, structure and involvement in cross-border cooperation is shown there. The part of this work is also own research among members of Euroregion Glacensis.
Analysis of causes of failure of applicants in the Small projects fund of Euroregio Silva Nortica.

The bachelor thesis deals with analysis of causes of failure of applicants in the Small projects fund of Euroregio Silva Nortica. The main goal of the work is to identify the most common causes of failure during submission of project applications through analysis and comparative methods and to define corrective arrangement for elimination the most common causes of failure. In the theoretical part, author is focused on general information about cross-border cooperation and Euroregions, particularly on Euroregio Silva Nortica and the Small projects Fund of this Euroregio. In the practical part are analyzed information provided by the administrator of the Small projects Fund and results of the survey. With mutual comparison of the analysis are identified causes of failure of the applicants and corrective measures for their elimination are defined.
