Education of pupils in Finland
Bačová, Veronika ; Tomková, Anna (advisor) ; Vondřičková, Klára (referee)
The thesis focuses on description and detailed analysis of factors and the strengths which influence the Finnish educational system, which makes it one of the best in the world. These strengths include, for example, the preparation (training) of future teachers at faculties, the support for pupils in education, or the current curriculum for basic education valid from 2016, etc. The strengths are influenced by factors such as history of a country, culture, geographical and demographic characteristics or economic situation in the background. The analysis of these strengths and factors includes comments based on my personal experience with Finnish education, which I was able to get during my study stay in Finland and is the starting point for a final comparison with Czech primary education. These experiences are also included in the form of written records and other supporting materials obtained during the hospice lessons at the Finnish Primary Schools. The subsequent comparison focuses on the most important points of analysis, both in Finland and Czech education, and shows not only the differences in both schools but also some similarities that we can observe. This comparison brings us a lot of knowledge about the qualities and reserves of Czech education and, last but not least, points to the...
Formative evaluation at the primary school
Cée, Iveta ; Hejlová, Helena (advisor) ; Vondřičková, Klára (referee)
The aim of my diploma thesis was to find out how teachers lead their pupils to self - assessment and how this effort relates to the type of their teaching style. The individual teaching styles, their suitability for pupils self-esteem, the particularities of individual development periods and the pupils self-evaluation in these developmental periods are characterized in the theoretical part. The practical part contains a case study, which describes the teaching styles of ten elementary school teachers and their influence on pupils' self-assessment. For the research task I used the data processing via observation and interviewing methods. Another method used in my research is the action teacher research, which helped me to find out my own teaching style and the level of self-esteem students are able to achieve in the 5th grade. The results of the research point to the influence of teacher's teaching style on self-assessment of pupils. Teachers focusing on the facilitating or liberal teaching style really lead pupils to the ability of self- assessment. Fifth-grade pupils who have not been lead to self-assessement since the first grade are not able to self-assess on the level of upper secondary school age.

Tůmová, Dana ; Tomková, Anna (advisor) ; Vondřičková, Klára (referee)
The Master thesis "Procedures of RWCT programme in the teaching of Czech language and literature at primary school" discusses the use of critical thinking techniques in the Czech language classes for fifth graders. My goal is to explore what options are used as the RWCT programme methods in the Czech language classes at primary school. One of the key objectives is to build a comprehensive material for teaching the Czech language in the fifth grade of primary school. This is based on critical thinking techniques thanks to which pupils not only study the new curriculum but also develop their reading literacy. The anthology demonstrates the applicability of critical thinking techniques in classes with specific examples. On the basis of reflections, I assess the options whitch the RWCT programme gives to the teaching of the Czech language in the fifth grade of primary school. Keywords A teacher at primary school, contemporary conception of teaching, Framework Educational Programme for primary education, RWCT programme, critical thinking, E - U - R model, critical thinking techniques, Czech language and literature.
Work with pupil's portfolio at primary school
Opatřilová, Hana ; Tomková, Anna (advisor) ; Vondřičková, Klára (referee)
This Master's thesis is divided into the theoretical and research part. The theoretical part is focused on the concept of primary education, in particular on the area of key competences. The thesis submits methods through which pupil's key competences can be developed. The major focus is placed on the pedagogical device which develops key competences and that is a pupil's portfolio. The thesis describes different types of the portfolio as well as its importance especially in the process of self-assessment of the pupil. The main aim of the research part is to investigate the benefits of using the pupil's portfolio and to describe its forms in different grades at primary school. This part is primarily focused on the concept of working with portfolio at two different primary schools. There are also interviews with teachers and pupils which suggest arguments why working with the portfolio is beneficial and what possible difficulties can occur. Responses which were received from the interviews with teachers show that the main benefits of working with the pupil's portfolio include the possibility of gathering pupil's works at one place, developing some system, storing of works, providing and documenting of pupil's results. All this is can be used especially during consultations with parents and the pupil.
