Changes of the regulation of world financial markets after the financial crisis

The aim of this paper is to summarize the changes in the regulation of world capital markets, which have been made in connection with the course of the financial crisis. Focus my attention on two of the world's economies, the U.S. and the European Union. The next section will analyze the specific market segments - banking, insurance and credit rating agencies. The paper describes the most important rules of law which arose from the changes in the regulation of financial markets.

The theoretical part describes the basic characteristics of private banking, history, legislation, subjects or impact of the financial crisis. The practical part is focused on products and services of private banking and the analysis of portfolios from private bankers from KB, a.s. and CSOB, a.s.
The introduction of new banks to the Czech market and possible impact on the banking sector

The thesis is concerned with the actual topic -- market entry by new banks (Air Bank, Zuno Bank, Equa Bank) to the Czech banking market in 2011. The work analyses all reachable data, circumstances of their foundation, management structure, product offer and especially the chosen strategy. The whole topic is put in context of actual macroeconomic conditions, which have crucial importance on their functioning. Partial aim of the work is to define potential risks and weaknesses of these institutions and especially review the possible impact on the Czech banking sector. Part of the thesis also considers customer review of actual product offers from these new banks.
Collective Investment in Comparative Context

Collective investment is significantly influenced by international companies. Importance and reasons why to use international structures are discussed in the diploma thesis. Basics of legal regulation of the collective investment in the Czech Republic, Slovak Republic and Grand Duchy of Luxembourg are in parallel described in the text. Impact is also given to the European regulation and its mirroring in the national laws. The diploma thesis describes the legal regulation of the complete list of the funds which can be used in the mentioned countries, including special funds. Moreover historical consequences and present situation on the collective investment market are discussed.
The comparison of alternatives of funded pension schemes

This thesis deals with the comparison of funded pension schemes in United Kingdom and in Slovakia. The aim of the thesis is the classification of pension systems and consequently the characteristic of pension system's structure in United Kingdom and in Slovakia. The thesis also has for the other goal to carry out the comparison of funded pension schemes of both countries in terms of the most significant factors which influence finances invested in pension funds. The Thesis consists of four sections. The first chapter is devoted to the characteristics of construction of basic pension system types, the way of their funding, types of pension plans and structure of three tier pension system. The second and the third chapter is focused on pension systems of United Kingdom and Slovakia, demographic changes in both countries, previous and present forms of the system, changes and intended reforms. The fourth chapter comprises of the comparison of the investment portfolio structure, rate of return, costs and charges of pension funds.
Credit default swap

This thesis charts the evolution of the credit default swaps (CDS) market from its inception to the present day. The first part focuses on the principles of CDS trading, the differences between CDS and insurance, the structure of the markets and variation in their volumes during the period, the influence of CDS on the credit crisis and the current state of the market. The second part looks at AIG and the relationship between CDS and the problems of AIG. The final part looks at the regulation and standardisation of the CDS market and trend in the changes to those regulations.
Fundamental and technical analysis of real estate stocks on the Prague Stock Exchange

Thesis combines two approaches towards stock analysis, fundamental and technical analysis. Prime objective is to present main instruments of both analysis techniques. At first there is presented theory of both, fundamental and technical analysis. Under the fundamental section there are presented global and sector factors that influence prices of stocks. Section of technical analysis starts with historical overview, followed by graphical analysis and technical indicators. Second part consists of the application of chosen methods of fundamental and technical analysis. There are plenty of graphs and practical examples within the application section to support theoretical principles.
Stock Price Bubbles

Economic bubbles are playing an increasingly significant role in the current global economy. We believe these bubbles are to a certain extent dominating the real economy, and, therefore, research based on this specific economic phenomenon is becoming increasingly popular and important. The focus of this master's thesis is based upon analysis of stock price bubbles. This thesis contains author analyzed historical cases representative of stock price bubbles; summarizations of their traditional features; common factors causing their formation; and reasons leading to their bursting. Solutions to the dilemma of stock price bubbles are discussed in depth, and emphasis is placed upon clearly deciphering different theoretical approaches regarding this phenomenon-not only from the efficient market hypothesis viewpoint but also from the perspective of behavioral finance. The research contains testing and measuring methodologies of stock price bubbles, and the author's view concerning them is strongly supported by the results within the empirical data-testing chapter. Upon reading, one can expect to achieve a basic overview of this forefront science.

Recommends also other ways how to gain capital for own company business acitivities. Thesis is interested about main conditions for successfull "going public". Initial Public Offering of bonds is described too. Practical part of this thesis is concern IPO in the Czech Republic -- historical data, IPO in the past on Prague Stock Exchange, commentary of well-known stock-market analysts, graphs of stock prices in comparison with the main stock index PX.
