Ulrich Seidl - Between Fiction and Reality
Síbrt, Radovan ; Kubica, Petr (advisor) ; Vachek, Karel (referee)
The bachelor thesis describes the development, which was undertaken by the Austrian film director Ulrich Seidl up to the point he made his first fiction movie HUNDSTAGE. The methods of his documentary works are scrutinized in order to point them out in his first non-documentary debut. It also follows ?the journey? he had undertaken between documentary and fiction. Next to that, the thesis problematises the fact that Seidl is by many regarded as a documentary filmmaker. At the same time it deals with the boundaries of documentary and fiction films and shows how unclear this can be, which makes it even more interesting for Seidl. The thesis also tries to raise questions concerning Seidl?s approach to reality and the way he deals with it.
Workbook for film-maker before debut
Klusák, Vít ; Vachek, Karel (advisor) ; Kokolia, Vladimír (referee)
I subordinated the choise of tasks to the development of my own film-making method. The basic rule for the generation of my text was for mw being driven to go through new experiences and not only writing out what I know or copiling texts from other authors. From practical overlaps I appreciated e.g. the film inventions that I constructed for my work. The "2 in 1" device enables simultaneous projetion of both the person in front of the camera and documentarist behind it.

Vladimír Rula, the prince of in situ film
Všetečková, Helena ; Růžičková, Alice (advisor) ; Vachek, Karel (referee)
The topic of my work is Mr. Vladimír Rula, in situ film maker (documentarist) from Česká Třebová. He is known among amateurs but his work has not been broadly covered in wirtten works. Owing to the fact that in situ film is a rather unknown and little studied field, I tried to describe him through the perspective of the in situ art and poetry/novel; the characteristic of Vladimír Rula is derived from our talks and from interviews with other artists who either know him or his work. During his life Mr. Vladimír Rula has made hundreds, maybe thousands of films. Many of them were presented at festivals of amateur films, others were seen only by his wife Slávka. It is quite substatial to intorduce his films to the public which is a matter requiring a longer period of time.
