Maps for mentally handicapped people
Vávrová, Eva ; Polášková, Martina (referee) ; Plánka, Ladislav (advisor)
The thesis deals with problems of creating maps for people with developmental disabilities. After analysis, it was necessary to admit that types of maps intended for people with developmental disabilities do not exist. Therefore, it was suggested to do our own cartographic work in co-operation with schools for students with developmental disabilities. It ought to make working with maps easier, especially for students attending schools for people with developmental disabilities. Three charts of the Czech Republic were created in scale 1 : 2 000 000. Subsequently a plan of Zlín was created in scale 1 : 4 000. The whole thesis is connected with issues of developmental disabilities, special education, especially educating of students with developmental disabilities. The main aim is joining creation cartographic work with intellectual level of people with developmental disabilities.
Impact of mental well-being of the nurses at selected wards during SARS-CoV-2 pandemic and the impact on the quality of care
VÁVROVÁ, Eliška
This bachelor thesis examines the impact of mental well-being of nurses in selected wards during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic and the impact on quality of care. The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has affected the health and lives of millions of people worldwide. The burden was particularly high for frontline nurses who provided care to patients with SARS CoV 2 disease. Long-term psychological strain can cause nurses to make mistakes and reduce the quality of nursing care. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to the characterization of SARS-CoV-2 disease, the development of the pandemic and risk factors. It also focuses on job performance of nurses during the pandemic and its impact on their mental health. Furthermore, the thesis deals with risk management of healthcare facilities, communication and management of adverse events in healthcare, and especially quality management in nursing during SARS-CoV-2. The practical part of the Bachelor's thesis is based on a qualitative research investigation, which was conducted using a semi-structured interview technique. A total of 10 nurses who worked in the so-called covid unit were interviewed. The practical part includes the establishment of four objectives. The first objective was to map the nurses' personal experience of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. The second objective was to explore the prevalence of mental health problems among nurses during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. The third objective was to take a closer look at the challenges of the nursing profession during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic from the nurses' subjective perspective. The last objective was to pin down the extent of the impact of the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic on the quality of nursing care from the subjective perspective of nurses. The research data show that SARS-CoV-2 disease itself causes the greatest stress. The nurses asked perceived stress and emotional exhaustion very intensely during the pandemic. The support from their loved ones, family, friends or ward colleagues played a major role in their lives. The nurses considered the impact of the pandemic to be a new experience of caring for patients with SARS-CoV-2 disease and an art of adapting to change. Good communication and collaboration with supervisors are important to ensure quality care for patients with SARS-CoV-2 disease. The interview revealed that the nurses experienced a lack of support from their supervisors during the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic. The research data include unexpected insights into the good teamwork that all nurses agreed on. Regarding the quality of nursing care, uncertainty in disease progression was found to be the greatest complication, but the nurses asked differred in their view on a deterioration in the quality of nursing care. This undergraduate thesis is meant to contribute to the research on the mental health of nurses working with SARS-CoV-2 infected patients, and to offer a simplified overview study of the impact of quality of nursing care during the pandemic. This work offers nurses a resource summarising all relevant information on the impact of well-being on the quality of health care.
Multidisciplinary team of Children's centre in South Bohemian region
VÁVROVÁ, Eliška
This undergraduate thesis describes the role of multidisciplinary teams in social work using the multidisciplinary team of Children's Centre of South Bohemia as a reference. Three main chapters cover the target group of its service which is identified as endangered children and multi-problems families and outline the personal structure and activities and work of the multidisciplinary team. This thesis also covers the role of many specialists that are in close touch with the target group. The theoretical basis is accompanied by two case studies of clients who received the care in the past which offers a closer look at the role of each member of the team.
Yoga and its possibilities in physiotherapy, its impact on the length of the spine
VÁVROVÁ, Eliška
The bachelor thesis deals with the importance of yoga, its possibilities in physiotherapy and its influence to a spine. Nowadays, yoga is a very popular activity that influence physical and psychological condition of people. In some case, it can help remove the pain. The thesis is divided into a theoretical and a practical part. In the first one, the anatomy of the spine and the chest is described as well as their particular articulation, muscles and functions. Then, one chapter is focused only on breathing followed by longer chapter describing yoga, its importance, history, and types and explaining main keywords: ásana (position) and pránájáma (breathing exercise). This chapter contains two smaller chapters about the influence of yoga to a spine and its benefits in physiotherapy. The method of qualitative research was used in the practical part. Three women practicing the exercises were part of the research. It lasted two months. At first of all, they needed to have a medical examination and then the principle of activities was explained to them. The women were regularly checked on week basis during the research to make the therapy more efficient. After two months, the medical examinations were made again and the results were achieved. According to the results of three women, yoga has a positive impact on the psychological behavior. The important indicator of success was the improvement of spine´s flexibility thanks to practicing yoga. Also, the perception of breathing was very convenient therapy for wrong stereotypes of breathing, but to make the exercise efficient it needs to be made regularly and correctly. The bachelor thesis could be used as an educational material for physiotherapist and for general public or for a larger knowledge transfer.
Forest regeneration within the treeline ecotone in the Giant Mountains under climate change
Cudlín, Ondřej ; Chumanová-Vávrová, Eva ; Edwards-Jonášová, Magda ; Heřman, Michal ; Štěpánek, Petr ; Cudlín, Pavel
Natural regeneration of mountain spruce forests began in the Giant Mountains 25 years ago after a reduction\nof severe and long-enduring air pollution. This process has been influenced by climatic change.\nThe aim of our contribution was to present background data for the potential elevational shift of spruce\nregeneration under conditions of climate change. These upslope shifts may also depend on constraints\nsuch as climate extremes, unfavourable soil conditions, absence of ectomycorrhizal symbionts, and lack of\nmicrosites suitable for seedlings. Since 2014, we have studied the main driving factors affecting Norway\nspruce regeneration, and in particular soil conditions, ectomycorrhizal symbionts, ground vegetation cover,\nand forest health, in six transects across the treeline ecotone located on a NW-to-NE transect through\nthe Giant Mountains. Microclimatic measurements showed that the mean difference in growing season\ntemperature between the montane spruce forests and forests at the treeline was −0.54°C. The model\nHADGEM2 predicted that in 20 years the temperature at the treeline will be similar to the current one at\nmontane elevations. The difference in prevailing soil types between the montane spruce forests and forests\nat the current treeline (i.e. podzol vs. ranker type) could be an important factor limiting success of the\nupslope spreading of spruce. Furthermore, areas covered by microsites favourable for natural spruce regeneration,\nespecially spruce litter patches, decaying wood, mosses, and Avenella flexuosa stands, were\nshown to decrease with increasing elevation. It is likely that spruce will move upslope in response to climate\nchange, but the process is likely to be slow or even blocked for some periods, especially by unfavourable\nsoil conditions and climatic extremes.
