The effect of a first aid course on the disgust level
Váňová, Barbora ; Kuba, Radim (advisor) ; Dlouhá, Daniela (referee)
Disgust is an affective component of the behavioral immune system. The behavioral immune system is a set of psychological mechanisms that help the body to protect itself against pathogens and other potential risk factors, thus influences the life of an individual in a wide range of situations. An example of such a situation might be the provision of first aid. First aid is an important part of the process of saving a person's life and, if provided correctly and in a timely manner, can significantly improve the course of treatment in hospital care. Disgust is one of the factors that can reduce or inhibit the willingness to provide first aid. However, there is a lack of research evidence on whether and how first aid courses specifically modify perceptions of disgust. Therefore, we decided to focus on this fact in the present study. The study was conducted through questionnaire survey before, after and one month after the first aid course. The respondents were in the experimental group participants of first aid courses organized at the Faculty of Science of Charles University and in the control group participants of other, non-first aid related courses. Purpose-designed questionnaires focused on previous experience with first aid, evaluation of the distastefulness of the tasks performed on the course,...
Reasons for the global decline of insect populations
Váňová, Barbora ; Šípek, Petr (advisor) ; Sedláček, Ondřej (referee)
This thesis deals with the issue of global decline in insect populations. Insects are one of the most numerous and diversified groups of animals in the world. This community plays irreplaceable roles in nature, contributing to the proper functioning of the entire ecosystem. However, fairly compelling evidence has now begun to emerge of long-term insect declines around the world. These declines are caused by many causes and factors that contribute to varying degrees of decline in the abundance and diversity of insect populations, and are often interrelated. The aim of this thesis is therefore to provide an overview of this global problem, and in particular its main causes. The topic has been elaborated through the study of scientific literature and subsequent presentation of the impact of individual factors on specific insect species or groups. It was found that the main reasons for the decline of insect populations are the loss of natural habitats, pollution, the spread of invasive species and pathogens, climate crisis and light pollution. Keywords: insect decline, population, biodiversity, biomass, agriculture, land use, global change
Possibilities od education and supervision for workers in day care centres for eldery people in the territory of capital city of Prague
Váňová, Barbora ; Matoušek, Oldřich (advisor) ; Vodáčková, Daniela (referee)
There are two aspects of this bachelor's thesis. The first section is theoretical, and it is here that I drew on the literature. Own research is the realistic component. The theoretical component of the project focuses on professional knowledge about social services in general and daily center in particular. I often work with the target audience and their unique characteristics. In the final section of the theoretical section, I discuss supervision. The practical part is divided into three parts. In the first part I find out the composition of workers in day hospitals for seniors in Prague. In the second part of the research of this work I find out whether the bad epidemiological had an effect on the frequency of supervision. I also find out what form of supervision employees have more often and what topic they discuss most often. And whether employees have confidence in the supervisor. The third part of the research is focused on the education of employees. Whether they can choose training topics and whether employees apply the acquired knowledge in practice. If they have the opportunity to participate in other forms of education. Whether the topics of the training are repeated or whether they lack a topic. And what effect did the bad epidemiological situation in 2020 have on training (whether they had...
The phenomenon of disgust and its relationship to first aid
Váňová, Barbora ; Kuba, Radim (advisor) ; Schwambergová, Dagmar (referee)
The bachelor thesis investigates the phenomenon of disgust and its relationship to first aid. The main aim of this thesis is to review empirical research regarding the given topic and to outline possible connection between disgust and first aid. Disgust is the affective component of the behavioral immune system and, together with the help of the perceptual and cognitive components, is responsible for recognizing and evaluating the potential risk of stimuli. Subsequently influences an individual's behaviour, in order to avoid contact with a potentially infectious object or person. Behavioral immune system and disgust have evolved as a primary defence against fitness reduction due to infection by pathogen or parasite. Other dimensions of disgust (sexual, moral disgust) focus on another person as a risky stimulus. The following chapters summarize essential information about the function of the behavioral immune system, the evolutionary significance of disgust, important models of disgust and factors that affect sensitivity to disgust. The second part of the thesis focuses on fundamental information about first aid and aspects that positively and negatively affect the willingness to deliver first aid. Disgust reaction can be revealed as a part of some first aid factors and could affect the willingness...

Váňová, Barbora ; Prášilová, Marie (advisor) ; Ivana, Ivana (referee)
The thesis deals with the demographic analysis of Kutná Hora region, with a focus on social services in the years 2005-2014. Between the monitored demographic indicators include the status and structure of the population, birth rate, mortality rate, rates of marriage, the divorce rate, migration and related indicators. The indicators were selected on the basis of their impact on social services. The values of the selected indicators of the region are also compared with the values of the whole of the Czech Republic. Most of the indicators of the region has the same trend as the average of the values of the Czech Republic, but there are even specific differences that characterize the region under consideration. All the data needed to draw up an analysis has been collected from the Czech Statistical Office. To assess the development of the various demographic indicators have been used by the elementary characteristics of the time series and the trend function. The prediction was made after the selected demographic indicators of the region of Kutná Hora in the year 2015 and 2016, which have a particular impact on social services.
