Winzbergerová, Alžběta ; Háva, Petr (advisor) ; Tušková, Eva (referee)
This thesis is a case study focused on a relationship between public policy to prevent childhood obesity and the role of the food production and marketing in the Czech Republic. The emphasis is especially given to the institutional framework of food marketed and produced for children and its social concequences, because childhood obesity is one of them. The results from the analysis are then confronted with views and opinions of children and their parents, with how they feel about food advertising. Conclusion: advertising and production of food designated for children is not regulated in the Czech Republic. On governmental level only basic standards and rules are given and self-regulation is given precedence. Parents are aware of the huge influence of advertising on their children and that is why they are not satistied with the current situation. They would appreciate stronger legislative regulation of marketing and production of food for children.
Approach of the Czech Health Politics to Strategy Health 2020
Machová, Kamila ; Háva, Petr (advisor) ; Tušková, Eva (referee)
The aim of the thesis is the assessment of developments in the approach towards the "European" strategy Health 2020 by Czech political players while using methods of critical discourse analysis and the assessment of the development of the Health 2020 agenda during the period 2010-2012 in the context of previous activities of the World Health Organization. The approach of the Czech health care political players to the strategy had been assessed on the basis of governmental programmatic statements since 1998, the National Reform Program of Czech Republic 2011 and interviews with participants in the Czech health policy and Czech health care. The approach of Czech health policy towards the Health 2020 strategy had been evaluated as extremely problematic. The course of creation and discussion of Health 2020 in 2012 had become a critical barrier for the Czech Ministry of Health. As a result, no wider awareness of this strategy exists in Czech health policy, neither does exist a Czech translation of this strategy. Lastly, the goals of Czech health policy do not reflect in a single point of the goals of the Health 2020 strategy.

Strnadová, Mirka ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Tušková, Eva (referee)
This bachelor thesis describes the phenomenon of alcohol and cigarette consummation among young people in the Czech Republic using the theory of social deviation. The following chapters focus on various topics, for example legislative measures connected to this issue, harmfulness of the substances included in alcohol and cigarettes, the family functions that can affect this behaviour or the possible addiction to the addictive substances as one of the health determinants. Deviation is characterized as an excessive consummation of these addictive substances as the regular consummation of alcohol and cigarettes is common enough that it is considered normal. Czech students appear among the first ten countries in the consummation of alcohol and cigarettes. Their behaviour can be affected for example by sex, type of school, average grades but mainly by bad habits of their friends. According to hypotesis of social deviation the most endangered should be young people coming from incomplete, non-educated families with lot of members. These families lack rules and have bad emotional connections between their members. Analysis of both alcoholism and smoking confirmed the influence of completeness and education of family, the rules in the family and the emotional connections between parents and children. The...

Czech healthcare in relation to doctors in hospitals Kristýna Kadlecová Abstract In recent decades, researches focused on doctors attend to the fact that the "unhappy doctors" became a worldwide phenomenon. In the Czech Republic dissatisfaction was publicly revealed in connection with the strike of doctors. The problem that is amplified after transformation are poorly thought out, unilaterally oriented changes in the organizational arrangements that have an impact on hospitals and by extension, as well as a physician. Doctors perform the economic and managerial role in addition to medical one. The key issue is how physicians perceive these pressures and how it affects their working conditions. The aim of this research work is discontent of contemporary Czech doctors working in hospital, i.e. the causes of conflict between their expectations and reality of their labor and other conditions, as developed in the last 20 years, and especially in the last 2 years when there was a radicalization of representation of interests of hospital doctors in the country. Vocílková, Andrea ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Tušková, Eva (referee)
The bachelor thesis "Alternatives to formal care for children of preschool age" deals with preschool childcare in the Czech Republic, with focus on its alternative forms. This issue needs to be discussed as the capacity of public nursery schools is insufficient, therefore the Ministry of Labour and Social Affairs has published Set of Pro-family Measures - Pro-family Package. In this package legalization of new forms of preschool childcare provided at private or non-profit basis is proposed. These alternatives, those that are currently regulated and public nursery schools and crèches as well are described and then the current situation of prepared changes in alternatives to formal care is introduced. These issues are also subject of qualitative research, which constitutes the following part of the text. In this practical part of the text expert interviews were held to explore experience and attitudes of preschool children's parents and carers from preschool facilities about these forms of preschool childcare. According to primary data the positives and negatives of different forms of preschool childcare are identified. The result is that for both parents and carers the child development is important, so they would prefer the increase of nursery school capacities rather than expansion of alternative...

Tuháčková, Pavla ; Tušková, Eva (advisor) ; Zrcková, Alžběta (referee)
This thesis deals with gender oriented approaches in comparative analysis of family policies of welfare states. And illustrate these approaches as a comparison of family policies of Czech Republic and Lithuania. It presents concept related to criticism of Esping-Andersen's typology of welfare states as a gender blind typology. The first concept is familization of Singrid Leitner. She builds the framework of four ideal types: optional familialism, explicit familialism, implicit familialism and defamilialism. In analytical part the family policies of compared states are classified as one of these types. Other concept presented is a typology of gender regime of Diane Sainsbury. She distinguishes three regimes: male breadwinner regime, separate gender roles regime and individual earner-carer regime. There is also analytical part, which follow this typology and assign states compared to one of the regime. The thesis is concluded with discussion considering the results of the analysis and forms of Czech and Lithuanian society.

The situation of single mothers in the context of family policy
Halbichová, Iveta ; Dobiášová, Karolína (advisor) ; Tušková, Eva (referee)
This thesis deals with the position of lone mothers in relation to family policy. It identifies the most serious problems associated with this status. Over the last decade we can see a significant increase in the number of incomplete families, so this group should be given increased attention. The head of the vast majority of lone-parent families are females, so this work is focused on single mothers. These are women living without a partner, who take care of a dependent child on their own. To fulfill the goals of this work we have used secondary data from documents that are related to the observed problem and primary data from qualitative research, which was realized by semi-structured interviews. The main problems associated with the status of single parent are poverty and its related problems of financial nature, as well as single mothers being burdened by high unemployment, which contributes to their difficult position on the labor market. They also face major complications in the harmonization of family and work life. These difficulties are associated with psychological problems which are often overlooked. The above-mentioned difficulties, which are related with the status of single parents, are caused by many factors, which this work deals with in detail. This thesis is also focused on the...

Košťálová, Veronika ; Háva, Petr (advisor) ; Tušková, Eva (referee)
The phenomenon of social exclusion and homelessness has been gradually coming to the forefront of interest in the Czech Republic in connection with the economic and political transformations that occurred after 1989. One problem is the insufficient effectiveness of social integration policies, predominated by only isolated solutions for the most blatant consequences. The aim of this work is to compare and evaluate selected social integration policy documents within the framework of the European multilevel system of government. The current possibilities for the social reintegration of homeless people into Czech society will be assessed on the basis of the results of this analysis. This work also attempts to validate published causes of homelessness for a selected group of homeless Czech people. In the empirical part a combination of qualitative research methods is used (semi-structured interviews with homeless people) together with a comparative analysis of the formulated goals of the social integration policies within the framework of the European multilevel system of government. Through this research it was found that the problem of the effectiveness of social integration in the Czech Republic is determined in particular by the excessive generality of the formulated goals at national level. One...
