Patients' awareness of prevention of Venous Thromboembolism

Bachelor thesis 'Patients' awareness of Venous Thromboembolism prevention' focuses on one of the many major issues of general medicine, which may eventually take terminal course for the ill. As Venous Thromboembolism (further as TEN) is mostly a threat to patients after surgical intervention and the risk of its occurrence may be significantly mitigated through sound prevention, the aim of this bachelor thesis is to find out whether patients are duly acquainted with this disease and its prevention, enabling them to eliminate the associated risk. This thesis further investigates whether the patients are informed no later than before the surgery, who provides them with this information and it examines the level of overall nursing prevention. The research was performed on the basis of questionnaires filled in by patients of selected surgical departments in the Motol University Hospital.
Development of self-sufficiency in patients with hydrocephalus

Thesis entitled Development of self-sufficiency in patients with hydrocephalus is divided into two parts. The first part contains a theoretical treatment of the subject. There is discussed the issue of hydrocephalus and the issue of self-sufficiency in self-care. In hydrocephalus, the author first examines in detail the anatomy of the cerebral ventricles and the creation, composition and circulation of cerebrospinal fluid. The following is a detailed discussion about the nature of the disease itself, its types, causes, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment. Finally, there is analyzed the quality of life of patients with this disease. In the area of self- sufficiency, the author focuses on the very concept of self-sufficiency, starting with a general description of this term and continuously moving towards a description of its different aspects with regard to movement and physical activity the patient, his clothing and hygiene, emptying the urine and stool and nutrition. The second part is conceived as an empirical. There are evaluated, what was found by using a questionnaire survey. The author examines whether the patients were improved after surgery in specific areas of self-sufficiency, and if so, to what extent. Areas examined are self-sufficiency in food, hygiene, emptying, walking and dressing....
Women's awareness of the risks associated with hormonal contraception

Presence dissertatation: "Women's awareness of the risks associated with hormonal contraception" is a charakter a theoretical- empirical. The theoretical part gives an overview of hormonal contraceptives, the dangers threatening the use of hormonal contraceptives and gynecologicalcare. Empirical basis of a questionnaire survey which was carried out in selected groups of women. The aim of this dissertation: Investigate whether women have the sufficient knowledge of the risks associated with the hormonal contraceptive and determine whether gynecologists to ensure the essential prevention and whether women are satisfied with them. To find these objectives serve the questionnaire. The work reveals the respondents' knowledge of risks associated with use of hormonal contraceptives, such knowledge is the basic level. Further reveals the difference between the groups, the level of knowledge and lack of care gynecologists. This work may contribute as educational material for health workers and women using or planning to use hormonal contraceptives.
Quality of life of patients following femoral neck surgery

The thesis is devoted to the issue of quality of life in connection with the neck of the femur. The work specifies the concept of quality of life, deals with the history, definitions and different approaches to this date. It also describes fracture itself, its surgical treatment and aftercare. Using a questionnaire survey was conducted of patients following femoral neck surgery, I find out whether these patients there was a change in the quality of life. Quantitative research was carried out in 2010. 34 respondents were interviewed and their responses were fed into the data evaluation.
The nursing process in a patient with mental anorexia

The aim of my bachelor essay is to introduce lay readers as well as specialists acquainted with anorexia nervosa problems. The essay is divided into two parts - theoretical one and practical one. The theoretical part contains the division of food intake disorders, history, causations and symptoms of the ailment, therapy and no less important part about prevention of anorexia nervosa disease. In the introduction of the practical part I considered with thetheory of treatment and nurse process. The anamnesis and patient's classification is elaborated by M. Gordon according to it the nursing diagnosis are sought and defined. There is brief elaboration of patient's hospitalization in the conclusion. The nursing process in a patient with Crohn's disease

The aim of this thesis is to make readers acquainted with not very known Crohn's disease. The work is divided into two parts - theoretical and practical. The first one describes the alimentary tract anatomy and physiology. Therein after, it renders non specific intestinal inflammations, their representatives, the definition and history of the Crohn's disease. It also deals the causation of the disease, its process, symptoms, complications, diagnostic and treatment. The theoretical part includes an association of people suffering from Crohn's disease, Crocodile (CROhn and Colitis DILEtants). The second part, the practical one, includes the nurse procedure on which the nurse anamneses are based. It also covers the M. Gordonová model that was the basis for the patient anamnesis. The hospitalization process is present in the practical part. In the thesis supplement there are additional information about the association, evaluative scales tables and nurse anamnesis which I filled up along with the patient within the scope of my nurse care. The nursing process in a patient with cystic fibrosis

This bachelor ́s thesis deals with patients suffering from cystic fibrosis (CF). The thesis includes a theoretical and a practical part. In the theoretical one, underlying anatomical and physiological disturbances in key organ systems are discussed. A historical review, genetics aspects, manifestations of the disease and current treating possibilities are also concerned. Despite a considerable improvement on the field of the diagnostic process, the diagnosis of CF is still often considered to late with negative consequences on the prognosis. Although the causal therapy is still not existing, an intensive supportive care can significantly prolong and improve the quality of life of the patients. Considerable progress in the treatment research promises a total cure in the future. The practical part of the thesis contains an analysis of separates steps of the nursing process and its practical application in one concrete patient. I elaborated a nursing anamnesis according to the Gordon's functional health model. I elicited detailed information about patient's health state for establishing his complex evaluation. When the nursing problems determined and the diagnoses established, I worked on the realisation of defined nursing goals. For next restoring of health is also very important first-aid treatment and emergent uptake in hospital. The necessitates not only expertise and experiences of doctors but also medical material and medical instruments support with many up to date diagnostic methods. The most important action is safeguarding and support of basic health functions. Next step is well- timed diagnosis and urgent treatment of endangering health process. Nurse services on ARO department are not only work with medical devices and some specialized medical help. In the first place we can talk about complex attention care with establishing of any demands and requirements and involvement prevention with no self-sustaining patients. The nursing process in a patient with cerebral stroke

The topic of my graduate thesis is the nursing process and its role in the care of the ischaemic stroke patient. I was especially interested in the insufficient common knowledge of warning signs and risk factors of stroke that significantly reduces possibilities of its effective therapy. This fact is known to be one of the greatest risk factors of stroke. Thesis is divided to two parts. The first is clinical and describes consise description of cerebrovascular anatomy and physiology, etiopatogenesis, clinical signs, diagnostic procedures, complications and therapy of stroke. It is followed by detailed course and history of chosen patient example. The second part of thesis is dedicated to the nursing process. In the introduction is summarization of nursing history by Marjory Gordon, that confounds nursing diagnoses. The diagnoses including nursin plan and effectivity evaluation are described in the detail in special chapter. Separate chapter is writen about patient education.
