Realization of educational problem based on experimental apparatus with cam mechanism

Bachelor's thesis is focused on solving educational problem based on experimental apparatus with cam mechanism. The task of the educational problem is to teach students to analyse kinematic quantities of cam followers. The thesis contains general discourse on the topic of cam mechanisms and basic terms definition. This is followed by putting the device into service, eliminating its particular imperfections, analysis of kinematic quantities of various combinations of available cams and followers and definition of methodics of the educational problem. The educational problem itself follows the presentation and commentary of gained results. At last some recommendations for the future modifications of the experimental apparatus are given followed by foreshadow of its eventual future usage.

Finite element modelling of voice propagation through the vocal tract and around the human head

This diploma thesis deals with creating of finite element model for the analysis of acustic waves radiation through human vocal tract and through the head surrounding space. The thesis contains a short overview of the anatomy of relevant parts and a short overview of formerly published models relevant to the topic. Then the process of creating the 3D model of human head, including the vocal tract, based on CT scans, and the mesh itself follows. This is succeeded by the computational solution taking in the acount the acoustic absorption of the vocal tract walls and radiation into the open space. The results gained are compared to relevant literature on this topic. The changes in frequency spectra in specific nodes of the mesh are reviewed and compared to relevant literature on the topic. The results could be used as basis of eventual frequention corrections of microphones used for voice diagnosis or registration in general, eg of speach or singing.

Anglická anotace Anotace: Předmětem práce je marxismus a jeho vztah k náboženství, jak jej pojímali především jeho zakladatelé - Karel Marx a Bedřich Engels. Práce je rozdělena do pěti částí. V první stručně popíši jejich život, abychom si mohli utvořit ucelený obraz jejich učení, jež by bez znalosti jejich života nemohlo být správně pochopeno. Druhá část pak bude věnována historickým a myšlenkovým zdrojům marxismu, ve třetí části se budeme zabývat dialektickým materialismem. Ve čtvrté pojednáme o historickém materialismu a v poslední, páté části, bude předmětem našeho zájmu marxistická antropologie, náboženství a morálka. Finite element modelling of sound pressure around the human head during phonation

The study presents finite element (FE) model of sound propagation through the vocal tract and around the human head during speech production. Similar experimental studies are not easily realisable. The FE model of the acoustic spaces corresponding to the human vocal tract for Czech vowel [a:] and acoustic space around the human head was created from computer tomography (CT) images. Modal and transient analyses (excitation by a short pulse) are used for analysis of resonant characteristics of the FE model. The production of vowel is then simulated using transient analysis of the FE models excited by Liljencrants-Fant’s (LF) glottal signal model. Formant frequencies detected from computed spectra are in good agreement with results of modal analysis and with literature. The results of numerical simulation enable evaluating of the transfer functions between a reference point and any point in the space around the head.
