History, Tradition and Faith in the White Mountain Stories of Václav Beneš Třebízský

The themes of this bachelor's thesis are selected aspects of stories by Václav Beneš Třebízský on the theme of White Mountain era. The aim of the thesis is to describe how the author works with history, traditionand faith in the short stories. The work will focus on the relationshipof Třebízský's characters with these entities. It introduces how the individual heroes understand them, what these three points represent to them and what role the author attributes to his characters in history, tradition and faith. Subsequently, the work could show what legacy the author left in the national myth of the battle of White Mountain.Through the reflective reading of his stories, in which he uniquely portrays the events of the battle of the White Mountain, he shaped the myth.
