Analysis and strategy of tourism development in the Vysočina region

The aim of this bachelor thesis is to analyse and examine the current state of the tourism industry in the Vysočina region and to suggest possible improvements in this field. A wide range of sources has been used in this thesis, such as statistical data, official documents and information obtained by personal visit of the region. The analysis results in a SWOT analysis and a conclusion, whether the Vysočina region lags behind its potential or not.

This thesis deals with the performance evaluation of a selected group of insurance companies. The text is divided into several parts and begins with the explanation of theoretical frameworks for both insurance and the ranking process. This knowledge is then applied to the object of analysis. Mainly the financial performance of insurers was assessed, by means of the so-called spread indicator. Hence, part of the analysis is also a cost of equity calculation with the help of the Capital Asset Pricing Model. The outcome of this work is the ranking of analyzed insurance companies by their financial performance in 2007-2009. The contribution of the work can be seen not only in forming the ranking, but in demonstration of a practical application of the chosen methodology as well as in description of its advantages and disadvantages.
Globalization and Traffic Psychology - Comparison of Selected EU Countries

This thesis deals with the comparison between Prague's and Vienna's traffic systems from the passenger's point of view. Its objective is to determine which of the two systems is more comprehensible and comfortable, and define their weaknesses. In order to fulfil the thesis objectives the survey research and observation methods have been used. The definiton of both traffic systems' weaknesses is to be understood as the result of the thesis. The importance of those weaknesses and their elimination is further increased by the globalization process.
