Design of composite isolator winder
Menšík, Martin ; Tůma, Zdeněk (referee) ; Tůma, Jiří (advisor)
The aim of this master thesis is the construction of a single-purpose machine used for reeling of composite insulator. In the first part is described the technology of reeling completed by the analysis of used components. Based on the findings, the final constructional version with necessary calculations is stated. The result of this thesis is a 3D model of the chosen design together with drawings and calculations of given parts.
Design of small turning machine C axe
Hermanský, Dominik ; Tůma, Jiří (referee) ; Blecha, Petr (advisor)
The subject of my bachelor´s thesis is design of C-axis for small turning machine. First part include definition of main terms and research in C-axis used for turning machines and turning centres. Next part is about cutting forces during the machining, choice of drive and breaking system for C-axis. Following part deals with creating 3D model of C-axis with turning spindle. The drawing of assembly is the last part of my thesis.
Design of spindle for lathe
Novotný, Timotej ; Tůma, Jiří (referee) ; Pavlík, Jan (advisor)
The diploma thesis deals with the design of headstock of turning center. The introduction of the work is devoted to a brief description of turning centers and detailed description of individual parts of headstock. The main part of the work consists of determining the characteristics of the headstock, calculations necessary for design and dimensioning and calculations using the finite element method. The result of the work is a 3D model of the designed headstock and drawing documentation.
A design of self-centering steady rest for CNC lathe
Mjartan, Lukáš ; Pavlík, Jan (referee) ; Tůma, Jiří (advisor)
The subject of this bachelor thesis is the design of a self centering lunette for a CNC lathe. In the beginning of the thesis the problem of clamping on the lathe is analysed. In the next part, research of lunettes available on the market is made. The following section describes the design of the main parts of the lunette. Based on calculations, a 3D model is created. The thesis concludes with an evaluation of the design with emphasis on the possible future production and operation of this device.
A design of single-purpose saw
Rakhmatullin, Artem ; Štěpánek, Vojtěch (referee) ; Tůma, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis focuses on the design of a single-purpose saw for cutting grooves on aluminum profiles. The work includes the examination of different types of saws, the examination of various design alternatives, the identification and selection of the most advantageous variant, the subsequent creation of a detailed design based on the chosen solution and a comprehensive evaluation of the resulting design. The desired result is a saw design that prioritizes factors such as ergonomic comfort, safety, precision and operational efficiency, ensuring a complete and efficient solution.
A design of manipulator for laser engraving device
Hanák, Jan ; Knoflíček, Radek (referee) ; Tůma, Jiří (advisor)
This thesis presents a research in the field of laser technologies used in industry and systems for laser marking of rotating parts. The output is a design of a laser cell that serves to mark rotating parts and that can be incorporated into an automated production line. The concept is developed in the form of a 3D model which is accompanied by necessary technical calculations and a justification of the choice of used components.
Design and inverse kinematics control of the SCARA robot
Sárkány, Zoltán ; Tůma, Jiří (referee) ; Štěpánek, Vojtěch (advisor)
The master’s thesis focuses in its introductory section on a general description of the given topic. The first part of the practical solution focuses on the process of creating a detailed model of a SCARA robot, including basic structural calculations. The next section deals with the creation of a model in NX Mechatronics Concept Designer and the development of the PLC control program and HMI using TwinCAT software.
A design of engraving plotter
Brtník, Vojtěch ; Tůma, Zdeněk (referee) ; Tůma, Jiří (advisor)
This bachelor thesis, in addition to the actual design of the laser engraving laser, contains basic information about laser engraving technology and marking used in industry. It explains the physical principle of the laser and the laser source, which is essential to understand and classify laser modules. Provides an up-to-date market survey of the laser engraving modules and engraving plotters in use. In the design part, the design of an engraving plotter for SMC company is carried out using 3D models in Solidworks 2022 according to the specified parameters. The plotter design includes the selection of a suitable linear motion unit with electric drive, the assumed control, control calculations and the design of the plotter structural elements. The next section deals with the design of the support part and includes safety and functional elements. The paper concludes with a cost evaluation and recommendations for practice.
Advantages and disadvantages of clamping the workpiece with zero points
Jirků, Kateřina ; Tůma, Jiří (referee) ; Knoflíček, Radek (advisor)
This bachelor's thesis deals with a technical-economic analysis of whether the purchase of zero point clamping system is economical. It compares the advantages of the zero point system both to standard clamping devices and to each other. It also compares brands and their dealers to the Czech Republic. Finally, this technology is evaluated by calculating the return after the application of zero point clamping system on shop floors of Soma Ltd based in Lanškroun.
The effect of tropical land use change on soil-dwelling ants and termites, their interaction and on ecosystem processes they affect
TŮMA, Jiří
In this thesis I explore the role of tropical soil-dwelling ants and termites in driving ecosystem processes, their mutual interaction and their responses to tropical land use change. To do this I use a combination of methods, including a full review of the ant-termite interaction literature, field sampling for ants and termites, DNA barcoding-based inference of ant predation on termites, and creation and implementation of a new protocol for measuring terrestrial bioturbation. I found that the literature mainly documents anecdotal observations of interactions between ants and termites, the vast majority of which are predatory. Many of these appear to be opportunistic predation of termites by non-specific ants, although some ant species have developed sophisticated methods that enable them to specialise on termite predation. My field sampling demonstrated that soil ants and termites are susceptible to habitat degradation, with logging having minimal impacts, but conversion to oil palm affecting both groups to a greater extent. The predation rate of ants on termites differs between ant taxa, but seems to be stable across habitats. Finally, termites are important for soil bioturbation in all habitat types, but overall, this ecosystem function relies only on few species in oil palm plantations, raising concerns about susceptibility of this function to future extinctions. My work emphasizes the importance of maintaining the diversity of these two trophically linked groups for the ecosystem functions they provide.
