Efficient Detection of XML Integrity Constraints
Švirec, Michal ; Holubová, Irena (advisor) ; Svoboda, Martin (referee)
Title: Efficient Detection of XML Integrity Constraints Author: Michal Švirec Department: Department of Software Engineering Supervisor: RNDr. Irena Mlýnková, Ph.D. Abstract: Knowledge of integrity constraints covered in XML data is an impor- tant aspect of efficient data processing. However, although integrity constraints are defined for the given data, it is a common phenomenon that data violate the predefined set of constraints. Therefore detection of these inconsistencies and consecutive repair has emerged. This work extends and refines recent approaches to repairing XML documents violating defined set of integrity constraints, specif- ically so-called functional dependencies. The work proposes the repair algorithm incorporating the weight model and also involve a user into the process of de- tection and subsequent application of appropriate repair of inconsistent XML documents. Experimental results are part of the work. Keywords: XML, functional dependency, functional dependencies violations, vi- olations repair
Mining XML Integrity Constraints
Fajt, Stanislav ; Nečaský, Martin (advisor) ; Svoboda, Martin (referee)
The most important integrity constraints in XML are primary keys and foreign keys. In general, keys are essential in understanding both the structure and properties of data. They provide an instrument by which va- lues from a given set of attributes uniquely identify tuples in a database. As a result, keys are important to main database operations. Since XML beco- mes lingua franca for data exchange on the web, it is widely accepted as a model of real world data. Because XML documents in general can appear in any semi-structured form, structural constraints (including keys) are often imposed on the data that are to be modified or processed These constra- ints are formally defined in a schema.Unfortunately, in spite of the obvious advantages, the presence of a schema is not mandatory and many XML do- cuments are not joined with any. Consequently, no integrity constratins are specified in those documents, neither. This thesis is mainly focused on the inference of primary and foreign keys from XML documents. 1
The political business cycle
Svoboda, Martin ; Loužek, Marek (advisor) ; Vlček, Josef (referee)
The main aim of my thesis was to describe the basic resources of political-business cycle and elements which have an influence on it. The tendency to put this phenomenon to a wider context showed us that the political-business cycle is affected by the type of electoral system, increasing power of special interest groups or bureaucratic system. Among the economic elements we can include restrictions of the Government to conduct a monetary policy because of central bank independence. Application of theoretical knowledge to conditions of the Czech Republic proved to be very problematical. Due to the economical transformation the political and economic system in our country demonstrated in non-standard conditions which made the empirical testing of political-business cycle more difficult. In connection with this also comes a problem of short time series which significantly reduces the possibility of any relevant comparison.
Leasing contracts in business relations
Svoboda, Martin ; Plíva, Stanislav (advisor) ; Zahradníčková, Marie (referee) ; Marek, Karel (referee)
In my dissertation I am concerned with the issue of leasing in commercial relationships. Leasing is a legal concept that was taken over from abroad after 1989. A close connection with lease and relatively short legal history are probably the reasons behind the certain degree of heterogeneity of opinions on leasing. And the diverse opinions on leasing were the main reason for my choice of this topic. I was particularly interested in delimitation of leasing in relation to lease and in legal regulation of leasing. At the same time I assumed that despite the difference of opinions the practice of conclusion of leasing agreements will be unified, considering the large volume of leasing agreements concluded in our country each year. The aim of my dissertation was to cover the majority of the main lines of opinion on leasing, make a comparison of leasing and lease and to assess whether it is necessary to apply the statutory regulation of lease on leasing agreements. Another aim of the dissertation was to assess individual components of leasing relationship, i.e. its participants, subject and content (subjective rights and obligations), both on purely theoretical level and in terms of the specifics of leasing as reflected in concrete business terms and conditions. My primary concern during my work on the...
Automatic Generation of Synthetic XML Documents
Betík, Roman ; Holubová, Irena (advisor) ; Svoboda, Martin (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to research the current possibilities and limitations of automatic generation of synthetic XML and JSON documents used in the area of Big Data. The first part of the work discusses the properties of the most used XML data generators, Big Data and JSON generators and compares them. The next part of the thesis proposes an algorithm for data generation of semistructured data. The main focus of the algorithm is on the parallel execution of the generation process while preserving the ability to control the contents of the generated documents. The data generator can also use samples of real data in the generation of the synthetic data and is also capable of automatic creation of simple references between JSON documents. The last part of the thesis provides the results of experiments with the data generator exploited for the purpose of testing database MongoDB, describes its added value and compares it to other solutions. Internationalization tendencies in obligation law with a focus on contract law
Svoboda, Martin ; Lederer, Vít (advisor) ; Frinta, Ondřej (referee)
Internationalization tendencies in obligation law with a focus on contract law Abstract This thesis deals with the harmonisation and unification of the law of obligations, mainly contract law at international, European as well as at national level. Emphasis is placed on the historical context, the current regulation at all three levels and the identification of individual problems. The first part of this thesis is devoted to a general introduction of the topic. It is divided into four parts, first explaining the concept of internationalisation in general and then introducing the different kinds. The first chapter introduces the concept of private international law, including European private international law. The second chapter is devoted to legal unification and harmonization at the international level. The third chapter deals with the Europeanization of the law of obligations, and the fourth and final chapter outlines the issue of comparative jurisprudence. The second part is devoted to the need and feasibility of legal unification, again both at the international and European levels. This part discusses the various individual problems, such as the ways of implementation, and the problems posed by efforts to harmonise legal systems and unify the regulation of contract law. The individual problems are...
Schema Inference for NoSQL Databases
Veinhardt Latták, Ivan ; Koupil, Pavel (advisor) ; Svoboda, Martin (referee)
NoSQL databases are becoming increasingly more popular due to their undeniable advantages in the context of storing and processing big data, mainly horizontal scala- bility and the lack of a requirement to define a data schema upfront. In the absence of explicit schema, however, an implicit schema inherent to the stored data still exists and can be inferred. Once inferred, a schema is of great value to the stakeholders and database maintainers. Nevertheless, the problem of schema inference is non-trivial and is still the subject of ongoing research. We explore the many aspects of NoSQL schema inference and data modeling, analyze a number of existing schema inference solutions in terms of their inner workings and capabilities, point out their shortcomings, and devise (1) a novel horizontally scalable approach based on the Apache Spark platform and (2) a new NoSQL Schema metamodel capable of modeling i.a. inter-entity referential relation- ships and deeply nested JSON constructs. We then experimentally evaluate the newly designed approach along with the preexisting solutions with respect to their functional and performance capabilities. 1
Browser of knowledge graphs presented as map layers
Štochel, Miroslav ; Nečaský, Martin (advisor) ; Svoboda, Martin (referee)
The aim of this thesis is to implement an extension of an existing web application called Knowledge Graph Visual Browser, which allows users to browse graphs of data published on the Internet as linked data. The extension provides a possibility to display the graph as a map layer on a base map, where the vertices of the graph are located according to their geographical properties, given there are any presented. The map view retains the configuration used in the default view, including styles or hidden vertices, but changes some settings, such as vertex groups. It is possible to go back from the map view to the default view, which is then displayed in the same way it did prior to switching to the map view. 1

Analysis of real-time data of public transport vehicles
Čižmář, Filip ; Nečaský, Martin (advisor) ; Svoboda, Martin (referee)
This thesis deals with analysis of real-time data of public transport vehicles over open data in Prague. Its main purpose is to create statistics and improve estimation, based on historical data, of a vehicle delay on its route between reference points. For demonstration of the computed data a front-end web app is created. This interactive app is able to show current vehicles locations over a map and other useful information. All components were tested. Open data from Prague public transport company were used to demonstrate that open data can be used for achieving high goals.
