Kinematic analysis of gait in patients with hip osteoarthrosis
Říhová, Barbora ; Malá, Jitka (advisor) ; Stupková, Michaela (referee)
Author: Barbora Říhová Title: Kinematic Analysis of Gait in Patients with Hip Osteoarthrosis Objectives: The aim of this thesis was to analyse the gait patterns in probands with Stage III osteoarthritis of the hip joint, to compare these patterns with published norms and to confirm a set of pre-established hypotheses. Method: The thesis was designed as a case study, the purpose of which was to observe changes in the pelvis and trunk extension during gait, associated with significant degenerative changes in the hip joint. A total of 9 probands with Stage III osteoarthritis of the hip joint (6 females, 3 males) took part in the study. A complete physiotherapy assessment was carried out as part of the study. The temporal gait parameters were used to measure the probands' walking speed and relative stance phase duration. The following variables were measured in the frontal plane: lateral displacement of the pelvis and trunk toward the stance limb (cm) and pelvic obliquity toward the swing limb (degrees). A 3D motion analysis and evaluation of kinematic parameters were carried out using the Qualisys motion capture system device consisting of 6 infrared cameras. Gait was measured at different walking speeds during a 10-second time frame and the data was subsequently subtracted from a minimum of 5 gait...
The power fitness training in professional women volleyball and its impact on health of the players
Škrampalová, Tereza ; Satrapová, Lenka (advisor) ; Stupková, Michaela (referee)
Title: The power fitness training in professional women volleyball and its impact on health of the players Objectives: Main target of this paper is to evaluate injuries which occur to the volleyball players of the Czech First volleyball league and their connection with the power fitness training which is regularly practiced by these players. Methods: For detection of the most common medical issues and parameters of the power fitness training of the players of the Czech First volleyball league has been used method of survey. Correlative-predictive method has been used for studying possible connections between medical issues and power fitness training. Results: The most typical injuries among Czech volleyball players are located in the area of hock joint. An occurrence of the medical issues with non-traumatic character is usually located in the area of shoulder and knee joints. Above mentioned medical issues connected with training at the gym shows that there is a deficit in certain parameters of the power fitness training. This deficit mainly refers to insufficient individualization of training, insufficient supervision of technical performance of exercises and ignoring pain during power fitness training. Keywords: volleyball, medical issues, training at the gym
Evaluation of postural stability in subjects after whiplash injury
Bureš, Jiří ; Stupková, Michaela (advisor) ; Satrapová, Lenka (referee)
Title: Evaluation of postural stability in subjects after whiplash injury Objectives: The aim of this thesis is to assess the impact of whiplash injury on postural stability of the subjects who sustained this injury and, subsequently, to compare the results with a group of healthy subjects. Methods: In this pilot study, 16 subjects forming an experimental and a control group were involved. The experimental group consisted of 8 probands after whiplash injury, about 3-5 months after sustaining the injury. The average age of this group was 29.4 years. The control group consisted of 8 healthy probands with average age 28.8 years. All probands were free of neurological diseases, previous serious trauma and orthopedic surgeries in the region of lower extremities or torso, which might significantly affect the results of postural stability measurements. To evaluate postural stability, the device Smart EquiTest System by Neurocom was used and the data obtained were subsequently processed using the Neurocom Balance Manager Software programme. The results of both groups were statistically evaluated using the Shapiro-Wilk test of normality and then compared using the paired t-test or the Mann-Whitney test. Results: The results of this thesis point out that the persons who sustained whiplash injury show worse...

Methods: In the general part of the thesis we use the background research for anatomical, kinesiological and biomechanical findings of the ankle joint, and also findings about ankle distortion, its diagnostics, treatment and therapy. In the special part we describe in detail the case report of a patient with a distortion of the ankle, treated in the course of a professional experience at the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine (IKEM) in Prague under the supervision of Bc. Robert Charvát. We use several physiotherapeutic methods to improve the patient's health. We provide input and output kinesiological analysis, proposal of short and long term rehabilitation, and we detail individual therapies and their assessment. Results: We fulfilled the set objectives. We compiled the theoretical...
Physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient with diagnosis of ankle sprain
Koupparis, Christoforos ; Stupková, Michaela (advisor) ; El Ali, Zaher (referee)
Title: Physiotherapeutic treatment of a patient with ankle sprain Author: Christoforos Koupparis Location of clinical work placement: C.L.P.A (Centrum léčby pohybového aparátu) Aim The aim is a further understanding of an anterior talofibular ligament sprain. Generally in my thesis you can see how the structure of an ankle joint is and the function of the same joint by a kinesiological and a biomechanical point of view. Furthermore it will be described in details a therapy plan about that diagnosis. Summary My bachelor thesis contains two main parts, the general part and the special part. In the general part I analyze the branches of anatomy, kinesiology and biomechanics for the ankle joint. In this part you can find also an overview of the ankle sprain and the physiotherapy examinations that need to be done in such situations. On the other hand, the special part is an extended report of my case study. There are included kinesiological examinations (initial-final) and the rehabilitation program that I followed day by day with my patient during my clinical work placement. At the end there are the final results and a conclusion Results The results of my case study were positive and this is deduced from the final outcome of my patient. At an early stage of the rehabilitation program, the patient had...
