There are defined terms relating to the issue in question, i.e. senior, old age, caring person, non self-sufficiency, biological, psychological and social needs of a senior, stroke. The issues of caring people accompanying elder care are examined in detail. In the empirical part, the author studied life issues of five women providing elder care to non self-sufficient pensioners for the period of 2 to 5 years. The qualitative approach was used in this work - not standardized observation, narration and semi-structured interview. Acquired data were compared with each other and with scientific literature.
