Legal instruments of water quality protection

The purpose of this master thesis is to analyze legal instruments of the water quality protection with the emphasis on the management of waste waters and also on the special treatment of some water bodies. The Czech legislation is influenced by the regulation of the European Union. The thesis is composed of seven chapters. Chapter One is introductory and defines the quality of fresh waters in the Czech Republic as well as the main sources of their pollution. The following chapters examine the subject of the regulation, aims and the planning process, individual sources of pollution, special protection and the problem of the liability. Public participation in the environmental impact assessment proceedings (EIA)

The topic of the thesis is Public participation in the environmental impact assessment proceedings (EIA). The thesis is divided into three chapters further divided into subchapters. The first chapter deals with the EIA proceedings in general including the history and legal sources of EIA. Moreover the Aarhus convention (as a principal source confirming the public participation in decision making proceedings in environmental matters) is described in detail. The following chapter examines the term of "development consent" and related term "subsequent procedure" as a fundamental conditions to ensure public participation in the appropriate extent as is set down by the directive 2011/92/EU. The third chapter is focused on the main issues related with the Czech legislation regarding the form and methods of public participation in the EIA proceedings and subsequent procedures as well as an access of a public concerned to a review procedure before a court.

77 Summary Legal regulation of forest protection The purpose of this Master's Degree Thesis is to examine the legal regulation of forest protection. The thesis focuses mainly on current forest legislation in the Czech Republic. The main purpose of this study is to ascertain whether the existing forest protection legislation is efficient and sufficient. And I also caused two general parts of legal regulation which are protection land designated to fulfil the function of forest and protection of forest against harmful factors. The work is divided into nine chapters. Chapter One defines the forest as a whole, its functions and questions of its protection. Chapter Two ascertains the legal regulation of international forest protection, European and national level. There is examined the national development of legal regulation of the forest protection. The aim of Chapter Three is to look at criteria used to divide forests into individual categories. Chapter Four defines the aims of protection land designated to fulfil the function of forest. Chapter Five examines the protection of forest agains harmful factors. The following Chapter Six defines the main legal regulation of forest economics.
