Lay resuscitation of newborns and infants awareness among mothers

This bachelor's thesis deals with the issue of maternal awareness in the field of lay resuscitation of newborns and infants and is concveived as a theoretical-practical work. The theoretical part of the bachelor thesis is divided into seven chapters. The first chapter describes the neonatal and infant period. The next chapters present the recommended practices in neonatal and infant resuscitation according to the current 2021 Guidelines, and define the chain of survival, emergency pre-hospital care, basic and advanced life support. The fifth chapter deals with education in basic life support. The final chapters discuss sudden life-threatening episodes - apparent life-threatening event (ALTE), brief resolved unexplained event (BRUE), sudden unexpected postnatal collapse (SUPC), and last but not least, sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS), with emphasis on its risk factors and preventive measures. For the practical part of my bachelor's thesis, a quantitative questionnaire survey was used, which took place between 12/2022 and 2/2023 at the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Clinic of the 1st Faculty of Medicine and General University Hospital in Prague. Premature Newborn Care Now and in the Past

v anglickém jazyce The thesis deals with the care of premature newborns. The structure of the thesis is divided into several chapters, which focus on the definition of neonatology and development of the neonatal care in the Czech Republic and abroad and on the definition of premature newborn and their most common diseases. Substantial part is devoted to development of the care of premature newborn and its current status. The final part of the thesis is devoted to interviews with the nurses, who have been working in the neonatal intensive care unit for long time. The thesis is formed by description and used it in written and electronic resources. The aim of the thesis is overview of the development of care of premature newborn in the past and present.
