Hydrological Drought in Headwaters of Šumava Mountain
Skála, Vít
This master thesis if focused on the phenomenon of hydrological drought in the Šumava (Bohemian/Black Forrest) region. Hydrological drought is defined on seven hydrological stations (Modrava (CZ), Rejštějn (CZ), Sušice (CZ), Zwiesel (DE), Teisnach (DE), Chamerau (DE), Kalteneck (DE)) during period 1931-1937 and 1949-2014. The aim is in finding suitable hydrological dought indexes and other methods and apply them od the data. Results are compared each other and also are compared with studies that were proceed in non-mountainous region. For hydrological drought evaluation the threshold concept and method according Gumbel 1963 were used and deficite volumes were calculated. Seasonality graphs and graphs for nuber of drought days in hydrological years were constructed, For trends defining, Mann.Kendall and Hisch-Slack tests were used. Hydrological drought sesonality is different on german and czech side, it means effect of exposition towards southwest winds. Hydrological drought is concetrated in autumn at german stations and in winter on czech stations. Number of drought episodes decreases with decreasing elevation. There were found significant decreasing trends in drought episodes occurance in time. Monthly trends aren't so clear. On czech side there is significant decreasing trend in winter months,...
Classification of rural municipalities by developmental potential
Skála, Vít ; Potůček, Martin (advisor) ; Majerová, Věra (referee) ; Kupčák, Václav (referee)
The issue of rural areas in the Czech Republic concerns about 5,800 municipalities, what is 93 % of all municipalities in the CR. These municipalities cover more than three-quarters of the CR territory where live over 3 million inhabitants, more than one third of the total population of the CR. Although there is consensus that the countryside faces a lot of problems which affect the lives of many people on a large territory, the adequate attention to this topic is still not given by official authorities. This confirms the facts that the CR has not adopted a clear definition of rural areas yet and the rural policy is not a priority of programs of political parties. But the urgency of solving problems in recent years stepped up. Quantity of scientific teams that focus on countryside problems increased. They are defined different typologies of rural areas, are seeking methods for dissolve disparities among different areas, there are efforts to measure the development potential of municipalities. This work is in accordance with these initiatives and by mixed research methods defines Development Potential Index (DPI). The DPI consists from 101 individual indicators. Verification of created index was done on data of 18 small villages located in three different regions of the Czech Republic, for which...

Vlčková, Kamila ; Čabanová, Bohumila (advisor) ; Skála, Vít (referee)
The Bachelor thesis "Local family policy in the Czech Republic" puts mind to the implementation of local family policy in practice and to its connection with community planning of social services. In the beginning of my thesis I attend to the definition of local family policy in the Czech Republic, of community planning of social services and their possible instruments. On the basis of my interviews and the study of various documents I realized that municipalities and regions don't exploit possibilities of support of families, that the law about municipalities and the law about regions give them, and that they implement support of families by project of community planning of social services. So in the next part of my thesis I put my mind to possible connection between this project and the implementation of local family policy. In the following part of my thesis I deal with two projects of local family policy and with the aid of outcomes of interviews I examine the satisfaction of families with practical realization of these projects. At the end of my thesis I identify main problems of the implementation of local family policy in the Czech Republic. These problems are especially a low institutional support of this policy and a low awareness of families and municipalities about possibilities of its...

The practical part is based on the data obtained from the CHMI (Czech Hydrometeorological Institute) and introduces the runoff regime of Loděnice river with a focus on the period of drought in the past and now. Hydrological drought is evaluated using the threshold limit method and deficit volumes. It has been detected that the basin of Loděnice is still under the larger impact of hydrological drought, especially in August and September. This bachelor thesis concerns water table dynamics in a peat bog. In the first part of the thesis the available literature is reviewed and authors 'opinions on peat, peat bogs, and their hydrological dynamics compared. The second part of the thesis aims at analysing water table measurement data relating them with climatic data. The water table dynamics is significantly impacted esp. with precipitation and evapotranspiration. The results are discussed in view of existing literature sources and possible ways to further work are outlined. Keywords: water table, peat bog, precipitation, evapotranspiration
