Phantom border as a cause of socioeconomic and political differentiation of contemporary Poland

Bakalářská práce se zabývá vlivem mocností, které vládl na území dnešního Polska po zániku litevské unie, na současnou diferenciaci socioekonomických charakteristik. Důraz je kladen na regionální rozdíly tzv. fantómových regionů, které v přetrvaly dodnes Základem práce je historický exkurz do období od konce 18. století do 1. světové války. nalýza je provedena kombinovaným metodickým přístupem, jehož základem je á mapami současného rozložení socioekonomických charakteristik, které jsou překryty vizualizací hranic fantómových regionů a interpretovány na základě historického Dále využívá statistické určení síly fantómového efektu. Základními rozdíly, které souvisí s vládami záborových mocností více rozvinutý průmysl na západě a vyšší religiozita na východě. Z výsledků práce vyplynuly další otázky a návrhy na jejich zkoumání, např. souvislost víry sňatečností a přirozeným přírůstkem. Reterritorialization of the Western Ukraine Borderlands. The Case Study of Lviv Oblast.

The Diploma is focused on the EU's external borders impact on the border area of Lviv. Both local and regional level of social and economic development of the border area and its relations with Poland and EU are examined in the context of political development from the beginning of independent Ukraine until presents. Mixed-Methods approach has been applied as it allows case studies to be set in a wider context. Structural and regional disparities of the development are observed by methods of quantitative analysis and Descriptive Statistics. Qualitative Research is applied to analyse a cognitive role of the border. From the political point of view, the development of Eastern European border area is controlled by European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP) and related EU regional political initiative. In the Western Ukrainian regions these are mainly represented by micro-projects focused on local problems and their solutions and intensification of the local cross-border cooperation development. Statistical analysis states that remarkable economic development has not reached the required level yet. However, the increasing social and infrastructural potential ushers in its rise in the future. Geopolitical aspects of Russian energy policy toward the European Union

The capacity of natural gas which is imported from Russia has a major part in the European energy mix. The over-dependency on Russian supplies invokes fears from potential dangerous geopolitical influence of Russia on states of the European Union (EU). The objective of this work is, by the method of critical recherché, to analyze principal geopolitical aspects than geoeconomical aspects of the Russian energy policy in stance to the EU and even to states in the region of Caspian Sea on the examples of the chosen European and Russian pipeline projects. The attention is also devoted on outer actors in the form of energetic companies, which enter in to Russian-European energy chess field. In the end of this work the possible diversification bases and the guess of the future development of energy policy is being discussed.
