Instruments for evaluation of the structure of the day in the occupational therapy
Račanová, Jana ; Rodová, Zuzana (advisor) ; Rotbartová, Eliška (referee)
BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRAKT Name, Surname: Jana Račanová Supervisor: Bc. Zuzana Rodová M.Sc. Title: Instruments for evaluation of the structure of the day in the occupational therapy Abstract: The bachelor thesis is theoretical-practical. The thesis summarizes the basic information about the tools used in occupational therapy to evaluate the structure of the day and the areas related to it. It is the structure of the day that is important component in the occupational therapy assessment and together with the other areas assessed it allows the occupational therapist to take a holistic view of the patient. Assessing all of the factors that may be affecting an individual's health is essential for setting appropriate therapeutic plans and goals. Therefore, the theoretical part includes chapters dealing with concepts related to the structure of the day that should not be overlooked in occupational therapy practice. Basic concepts of the profession (occupation, activities, habits) as well as concepts such as participation, occupational balance, roles, etc. are described. At the same time, the work includes brief information about models that address the issue. The aim of the practical part is to translate one of the instruments, namely the Occupational Balance Questionnaire 11 (OBQ11), and to test it in a standard...
Advantages and Disadvantages of Using the New Czech Extented Version of the Manual for Purdue Pegboard Test
Sedlecká, Anna ; Vondrová, Kateřina (advisor) ; Rotbartová, Eliška (referee)
Title: Advantages and Disadvantages of Using the New Czech Extented Version of the Manual for Purdue Pegboard Test Abstract: The Purdue Pegboard Test (PPT) is a pin test used by occupational therapists to evaluate fine motor skills. Newly to the PPT in 2021, a collective of authors from the Klinika rehabilitačního lékařství 1. lékařské fakulty Univerzity Karlovy a Všeobecné fakultní nemocnice v Praze (Clinic of rehabilitation medicine 1st Faculty of Medicine Charles University and General University Hospital in Prague) has created a Czech extension manual that includes new rules for evaluating situations that arise during PPT testing. The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to determine the advantages and disadvantages of using the New Czech Extended Version Manual for Purdue Pegboard Test in occupational therapy in the Czech Republic. The partial goal was to create a Practice quiz to test knowledge of the New Czech Extended Version Manual for Purdue Pegboard Test. In order to find out the advantages and disadvantages of the test under study, I practically tried the test on eight probands and also conducted an online questionnaire survey. This survey was addressed to occupational therapists and occupational therapy students of the Czech Republic. Responses from 195 respondents were analyzed using MS Excel. The...
Possibilities of Bimanual Training of Upper Limb Coordination with People after Brain Damage with Hemiparesis
Burajová, Patricie ; Rejtarová, Anna (advisor) ; Rotbartová, Eliška (referee)
This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of selected bimanual training with people after brain damage with hemiparesis. The bachelor thesis is both theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part are presented the most common causes of brain damage that lead to hemiparesis. Then selected unimanual approaches are described, which focus mainly on the paretic upper limb in therapy. They are followed by bimanual approaches, which emphasize the coordination and involvement of both upper limbs. The unimanual ones are Constraint-induced movement therapy, Robotic Assisted Therapy, Functional Electrostimulation, and Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation. Bimanual approaches include the HABIT method, COMbined modified constraint induced movement therapy and bimanual intensive training, Mirror therapy, Bilateral isokinematic training, and Task-Oriented bilateral training. The practical part contains a created set of model bimanual activities, which include a total of 13 activities, from personal and instrumental everyday activities. The set was used with 6 patients after suffering a stroke for 3 weeks of therapy. During these three weeks, the patients performed selected model activities from the created set. Each patient underwent an initial and then final examination and evaluation with selected...

Author: Bc. Eliška Rotbartová Supervisor: Mgr. Kateřina Rybářová Title: The Inter-rater Reliability of the Nine Hole Peg Test in Patients with Multiple Sclerosis Abstract: Introduction: The Nine Hole Peg Test (NHPT) is used by occupational therapist as a standardized tool which evaluates fine motor skills and manual dexterity. The aim of this thesis was to establish the inter-rater reliability and variability of the results of the NHPT administered according to the Czech extended version of the manual in patients with multiple sclerosis (MS). Methods: 33 probands with MS (27 females, 6 males) were tested by NHPT. Video recordings taken during testing were analyzed by two independent raters. Pearson correlation coefficient was used for statistical data processing. Recording sheets from the testing were analyzed in order to determine invalidated trials for each subtest and reasons for the invalidation. Results: A very high positive correlation was established for inter-rater reliability (0,999902 to 0,999965) and variability of the results (0,999902 to 0,999965). The invalidation of trials was most frequent in the 2nd trial of the dominant hand (24.24% of 33 trials). The least frequent was in the 3rd trial of the non-dominant hand (6.06%). The most frequent reasons for invalidation of trials were:...
The Independence in Persons with Multiple Sclerosis from the Perspective of the Occupational Therapist
Rotbartová, Eliška ; Novotná, Klára (advisor) ; Vavříková, Marianna (referee)
BACHELOR THESIS ABSTRACT Name, Surname: Eliška Rotbartová Supervisor: Mgr. Klára Novotná, Ph.D. Consultant: Mgr. Kateřina Rybářová Title: The Independence in Persons with Multiple Sclerosis from the Perspective of the Occupational Therapist Abstract: The bachelor thesis is focused on the independence in persons with multiple sclerosis (MS) from the perspective of the occupational therapist. Multiple sclerosis is a chronic autoimmune demyelinating disease. The progress and symptoms of the disease are variable and specific to each patient, who may be impaired in his/her ability to perform activities of daily living (ADL). The aim of the thesis is to map problematic areas in ADL in persons with MS. The thesis consists of a theoretical part and a practical part. The theoretical part describes MS, pathogenesis, forms, symptoms, and treatment options. The theoretical part characterizes independence in ADL, evaluation of independence, independence in persons with MS, care for these persons, and compensation strategies. In the practical part, questionnaires distributed among patients were evaluated. The obtained data were compared on the basis of demographic data of patients. Case reports of three patients with MS were processed to illustrate the specific problems in ADL, using the Canadian Occupational Performance...
